  So. Alternate question. What would the air pressure be at the center of the earth for this bottomless pit? Would it be zero or some ridiculously big number...and if latter would air be gas or liquid? Leaning towards big number but have to think about it (googling would take fun out of it). Oh...would you fall straight down or start scraping one side of the pit due to earth spinning :)

  I wonder how long in this hyperthetical situation it would take before your natural expectancy to hit 'the ground' receded? I'm ignoring grazing myself on the sides of this hole here too naturally.
