If you were to fall into a bottomless pit...

Bottomless is precicely 42 minutes in a vacuum.
That's Earth.

No, the terminal velocity would be when the resistance falling through air, Dv^2 equals mg, where D=0.25kg/m for a skydiver falling through air. So if you're a small guy, m=50kg. Your terminal velocity would be: v=sqrt(50*9.8/0.25)=44m/s or 99mi/h
-
9.18mph/??ft fallen=how long it takes!
-
I honestly don't care how fast I go in this pit, ir if I die in it. I would most likely be freaking out because I fell in a bottomless pit.

Oh, and this if you have this spread eagle position. If you put your arms to your body and dive, you can reach higher velocities. But I leave that as homework. 😃

Wonder if your excretions have the terminal velocity... You'd end up falling in a cloud of stools and urine spray. Lovely..
-
Well, I forget how this goes but, if your brain senses a situation like this it would make you pass out, my math teacher was in a motorcycle accident and he passed out almost immediately after contact.

When I see bottomless pit i see something that has no end. Fiction, work of the imagination. So I think I would just fall till I died of starvation or if I smacked my head in the wall of the pit.
That is the question is it not?
Every pit ha a bottom, but in this scenario he took out the bottom. No landing, no stopping. -

I thinks its like 8.4 km/hr or something...the number may not be correct but it's around there☆ A〽NESTY ☆ wrote:
You can only fall so fast. The speed doesn't increase the longer you fall. I can't remember the exact mph. But it's called terminal velocity. You would die. You would end up at such a high speed you would be torn to pieces. Logic

It could be a square pit. I was meaning its 3D shape, not its crossection💀De͜sтяоγe͜я💀 wrote:
Erm....It would be in the shape of a circle. But, where would this bottomless pit be? What shape would it be? Would it be like a doughnut with gravity pulling the same way, so more endless spinning, or would it be created ahead of you, and destroyed behind you? Will it survive the end of time? Seaing as it would have to be every where but nowhere?
Personally thinking about the pit would keep me interested for a while, and then playing in 0 gravity would be cool. Can you bring a large rock or some other object whith you?

Looking up girls' skirts as I fell would warm the cockles of me ol' heart as I plummeted. Though the wicked girlies were probably responsible for my tumble!

Everything falls at a speed (Not velocity) of 32.0 feet per second...That's without any thrust ofcourse. Interesting theory...Reminds me of a black hole for some reason...

Impossible, you would track terminal velocity, and that should be far too slow to be able to tear you apart. If however, you were in a vacuum, while being affected by immense gravity, then you might be able to obtain a high enough speed to "tear you to pieces"You would die. You would end up at such a high speed you would be torn to pieces. Logic

What the hell?
32 feet per second per second is surface pull. If you are in the Earth, pull diminishes as you approach the center.
The Internets have the answer.

I'd get bored fast :PLmao. And terminal velocity is 126 MPH for people who don't have a clue what 9.8 m/s is

Lol. This thread has been horribly hijacked. It went from a joke thread to physics class.
