I really hate when religion comes into awesome stuff. Your actions do not reflect god, but yourself. And if "god" can do ANYTHING, can he make a rock so large that he can't move it? Because if he can, than he can't mve it, so he CANT do anything, but if he can move it, he STILL can't do anything because he was supposed to make a rock that he CAN NOT move. So to you religion addicts, HMMMMMM?
Ahhh here is the genius. You and Dawkins going on tour together soon I heard huh?

Don't get me wrong, some founding fathers were highly spiritual people. John Adams and Patrick Henry to name a pair. But most were not! Jefferson actually rewrote the new testament and removed all miricles from it! Here we are 230 years later and religion plays an increasing role in our society. I've seen people (highly respected adults) in this game state that if Obama serves another term we'll live is a Muslim country! That somebody can be so stupid scares the piss out of me personally.
Religion is an important part of many people's lives. That's great, but when you use your religion to be the sole basis to justify your actions, that is when I start to have a problem.
The second 2/3's of this is just rubbish.... U actually gave an example of some loon in order to make a whole group of people look bad. That's pathetic and really scares me that you are a teacher :X

this is 100% true, but simply telling people this just pisses them off. While religion is a crutch, it has been useful for many over the years. It's when people start with the 'i hate fags cuz god said so crap' or the 'let me kill u cuz my god has a bigger dick than u'r god' mentality that it starts to become dangerous.Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak and narrow minded.
Once again....

haha God was the orig Alpha n Omega ... If you are a Christian (Which I am) your faith does affect your political point of view.. Correct me if I am wrong but most of us vote on the candidate we identify with the most.

Oh hooray. Another religious debate. Be careful PSI. The last guy to make a thread like this didn't do so well. His thread was deleted and he kinda disappeared. It would be a shame if you were banned or reset over this, after all you went through before.

So the first enumerated right of the people is free religion. The very first presidential proclamation was to dedicate a day of prayer to God... Yeah, there was no mixing of politics and religion, right. Even Jefferson, with four bankruptcies, believed in God prominently and publically. It was obviously not a private matter in those days. How can you read all of this, even our declaration of independence, and come to the conclusion that religion is suddenly taking over politics more than ever before?
-
God is not something that is affected by the laws of the universe. It is something that made us but exists out our universe. That is what my religion says, which is Islam.

It amazes me that brown note is the only person to get the point of this topic (despite the fact that his opinion I disagree with he is at least talking about the topic). It is not my intent to talk about God, but it my attempt to bash tea party members hijack our founding fathers.

As for Brown Note, the only person engaging in the debate as intended, consider the following quote (again by Jefferson, the person responsible for the first amendment):
"[government has] no authority to direct the religious exercises of his constituents."
you need to either refute the quotes or shut up.

So let me get this straight are u suggesting that only some of our founding fathers were religious, or that none of them were?

All founding fathers believed in some sort of God (at least at a public level). However, for many, their vision of God was very different. Again, talking about Jefferson (who is the most important founding father in question since the establishment claus is attributed to him), he rewrote the new testemant and removed all miricles! No virgin birth, no water into wine, no rebirth, etc, etc. Other founding fathers also had strong non-Christian practices including ben Franklin.p s i wrote:
Moreover, every church visit made by George Washington was well documented. He would visit a church (rarely the same denomination for very long) only several times per year.
Fast foward to today where tea party members are dressing up like our founding fathers and giving full religious ceromonies. How is that not only are people in this country not outraged, but many support it!

How are tea partiers spreading hate, lol u watch too much of the liberal news... The media has been out to get them since day 1....sorry that their viewpoints seem to be so wide shared among Americans or the group wouldn't exist.
Anyways u seem to throw out some interesting statements but I am assuming they are either taken out of context or mere exxagerattion by the true zombies.... The media

Loons on the left will never think what the conservative right is doing us positive.

The Tea Party simply wants to limit the size of the exploding government! From stimulus packages that haven't done a thing to a government take over of healthcare that polls have shown the majority of people are against! They want the people o this country to actually be heard, which seems like common sense to me.
