Don't get me wrong, some founding fathers were highly spiritual people. John Adams and Patrick Henry to name a pair. But most were not! Jefferson actually rewrote the new testament and removed all miricles from it! Here we are 230 years later and religion plays an increasing role in our society. I've seen people (highly respected adults) in this game state that if Obama serves another term we'll live is a Muslim country! That somebody can be so stupid scares the piss out of me personally.
Religion is an important part of many people's lives. That's great, but when you use your religion to be the sole basis to justify your actions, that is when I start to have a problem.

Think of the average person. Then remember that half of people are dumber than that. -
Since the electionof Obama, the most outspoken voices in this country has taken a radical swing to the right. This is contrast with what happened when bush was in office (when the most outspoken members of society took an equally scare movement to the left).

psi how dare you. I use logic. The universe is too complex to not be created. The human body can't be a genetic accident. Jesus has helped the world tremendously

Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak and narrow minded.

this is 100% true, but simply telling people this just pisses them off. While religion is a crutch, it has been useful for many over the years. It's when people start with the 'i hate fags cuz god said so crap' or the 'let me kill u cuz my god has a bigger dick than u'r god' mentality that it starts to become dangerous.Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak and narrow minded.

O ye of limited thinking...
If more people would hit the history books and learn what made this Country great they wouldn't be electing jackasses like the ones in office now.

If you put it that way yeah!! (btw obama is cool)

are you sayong Christians(Protestant like me) don't help the world??? Christians save others by bringing them to God. They also are often very charitable. And just cause people are Christians doesn't mean they can't help science and stuff. This makes no sense. psi you are irrationalHydroChaz wrote:

Just because something doesn't make sense to you doesn't make it wrong.

Science and religion are not at odds. Science is simply too young to understand. -Dan Brown (Angels & Demons)

The separation of church and state is not constitutional. You may have studied religion, but you don't seem to know jack shit about the constitution. You are a hack in that arena. You're biased and skewed. And you are a "teacher"'s bitch. Remember.
-
I know that Jesus Christ died for my sins. I know that he was raised on the third day. I know that when I die on this earth I'm going to heaven. If you don't like people making posts saying "If you're not a Christian you're going to he'll" on a thread (which I agree is inappropriate) then making threads saying that christianity is a farce is equally offensive to us Christians. Both are inappropriate for a turf wars forum IMO
-
Christianity is based on faith. You either believe or you don't. I'm not going to convince you on a turf wars forum that He exists and you're not going to convince me that he doesn't exist. That's why this thread is pointless and doesn't need to be on the forums. Nick has already stated to leave the religion debates off the forums
