Just found out im gonna be losing my job
Forums › General Discussion › Just found out im gonna be losing my job-
I work in a winestore and already worked just part time and my boss just informed me that he sold the store and he will no longer be running it as of august 1st and tht by next week, my work hours will be cut in half.....
Im super bummed. I loved this job an was already barely making enough money to stay afloat.....
Time to start job hunting again.... Some words of encouragement would be nice or any thoughts really...
😔😔😔😔

Sorry to hear that. Good luck finding a job.

Oh bad luck, at least it isn't your problem that your out of work
Pot up you've done good -
Whats ur profession?

Start your own buisness

Basically im one of two employees that operates and runs a wine store and tastin bar and when im not at work, i also work for a theatre company a a contracted musician.... But the wine store was my one steady paycheck and the hours were flexible enough so i could pursue music fulltime.... This is gonna be a challenge

Bummed to hear the news, hope you pick up some alternate work quickly.
Unfortunately the new owners will likely want to make the best return on their investment and that means working the shop themselves.

Damn that sucks. I been there. Still am there. But hey you'll have more time to punch and maybe keep up with me 😁😜😝

I'm in the same boat. All I know to say is good luck.

Move to western North Dakota. The economy there is booming. The oil/natural gas and wind energy companies are all hiring skilled and unskilled labor. Truck drivers are making as much as 60-70k.
The boom is expected to last 15 to 20 years.
Only problem. It's in western North Dakota.

All good things to those who wait. The company that my mom worked for went out of buisness and we were worried for a bit. But now she has a new, better job. It'll get better for you too. 😊

If you play piano or something useful, go to a church and offer to give piano lessons (if you're good enough) or whatever instrument you play.

Dude that sucks I'm sorry. Craigslist is great for finding part time gigs. It's how I found like my last 6 jobs. (if one didnt work out after a week or so I was able to find one before I got my last paycheck) and you REALY don't have to put too much foot work in bc everything is online. They have all kinds of categories depending on what your qualified for. Just send an email as your cover letter and attach your resume. You can do like 50-100 a day till you get some nibbles.

I've been job hunting a long time. 2 years in August. Idk how it is where you're at, but it's a pain here. I wish you luck

That sucks but keep your chin up and find another job

State and government jobs are good. Pay is ok, but the other perks are sweet. I would say try that. Good luck

Iowa is a good place for jobs. Besides tax, of course.

Anyway gonna apply for a couple 9-5 bs asskissing jobs tomorrow 😁 lol

Keep yer head up. You will find work. Keep on smiling. Be glad you wake up every day and are able to get out of bed and wipe your own but. Times get hard sometimes and finding out u are fixin on ready to be unemployed sucks more than anything that's ever sucked before. ( I got that saying from somewhere I can't rember) be happy, think positive and always keep a smile on your face. It makes people wonder what you are thinking. Peace out.I work in a winestore and already worked just part time and my boss just informed me that he sold the store and he will no longer be running it as of august 1st and tht by next week, my work hours will be cut in half.....
