1. When did you start playing turf wars?
I started playing January 5th, 2011. My long time RL friend atla had been bugging me since Sept. 2010 about this “great new game” that he was playing and that he really wanted me to try (mainly, I think because he wanted the 5 free don points he’d get from referring me). I gave him the “I’m too busy for games” speech, but every time I talked with him he was on and on about Turf Wars™.
Finally, I was bored on one rainy day when my flights were scrubbed and I decided to download the app. I installed it and he gave me a list of Do’s and Don’ts -- “Don’t put any points into A/D”, “Mob up”, etc. He's a very good mentor. I was reluctant, but quickly hooked! (Darn you Nick!).
He also told me to get some turf in the Houston Safe Zone (HSZ), ASAP. I drove up to Houston and planted turf around Rice Village and that area. He introduced me to Ultra (she had turf out by where I lived), Mystery, Nelli, Addi, Bugsy and a bunch of other Texas hooligans. -

In hindsight, I sure wish I had started back in September 2010, I'd be another 10k bigger by now! Grrrr... -
2. What does the ⌖🔥 tags represent?
I’m not real good with all the sybology of modern emoji, but from what I get from these two emoji, the 🔥 is a fire icon and the ⌖ is a crosshairs, like you’d see in a rifle scope. I may be over simplifying it though...? -

Word on the street is that he’s into Cement Shoes these days. He built a whole new walk-in-closet just to house the new collection, so I’d suggest sending those his way instead. (Just be sure to tell him that ⌖🔥💃Johnny O💃🔥⌖ sent ya’). -
4. What is your favorite battleground on the tw map?
Wow. This is a hard one to answer. Really, it shifts around based on where the “enemy” is entrenched and feeling safe, fat and sassy... those are the areas that get my attention.One of my favorite pastimes though is to “drop” turf out the airplane window while I’m flying across the country just at random, without caring about proximity to other turf, etc. Then, when I land, I look at the map for airports or interesting capo names and hop in that direction. There are some really funny city names out there! I guess my favorite, which is not along one of my routes, so I’d have to do a lot of hopping to get to is the last capo on “Srawfrut”’s capo list. That’d be worth hopping to!

5. Favorite forum moment?
Most touching: Bella’s ‘Dear Lep’ thread and her reaching out to his mom and sister. Bella is A#1 in my book and that really stood out as an honorable and caring thing to do.Funniest PM/forum lore message: “SHE SELLS THEM!!!”

6. What is one thing that a noob will do that will cause you to pound them into reset?
I don’t really view myself as being a “pound them into reset” kind of guy, but what bugs me is extreme imbalance coupled with unnecessary ruthlessness. It goes back to the whole “there is a person on the other end of those attacks” concept.For me (and a lot of others that knew him), this was really brought home when Cody (Leprechaun), took his own life. He and I were always cool with each other, but I’ve always kept him in mind when I ‘fight’ it out on the map. There is a line that I, personally, try not to cross. I respect my teammates and even those that I’m targeting.

The relative benefits in general aviation aircraft of the low wing design popularized in the Piper line of aircraft with it’s defined wing dihedral versus the high wing variation most often seen in the Cessna fleet of piston aircraft.Now THAT would be an interesting topic!

9. One suggestion for nick and the devs?
For the “Top Mobsters” screens, I would REALLLLLY like to see the “Choose an Area” flip-flopped with the tabs at the top of the screen, so you would choose an area, country, state, city, etc. FIRST, then you could tap on the tabs to see who is the Top Influence, Area, Wealth, Fights and Mob without having to drill down five times to get the same information. -

If you’re paying for the type rating and the JET-A, I’m down with the Hawker! Where are we headed?I’m pretty happy with the Cardinal as a photo platform and overall fun and economical aircraft to fly in the GA fleet. There are faster, but with AVGAS costing close to $6.00/Gallon these days, economical keeps you flying longer.
An Aerostar 601P is the right mix of speed and economy IMHO for a twin.
