April 24
Decide to hit the road. Start out at West Pennant Hills, departing from "THEY Add: {Code not printed}" and heading to Melbourne Airport (Sydney Airport is currently closed). I head down the M2 as usual when going to Canberra. I get an epiphany when I realize traffic lights don't slow down hopping decide to turn off and cut past Prospect Reservoir.

April 26,
It's been expensive hopping across the city which has slowed me down a bit as I want to maintain cash reserves. Fortunately no one has really noticed my passing as 2 x 86 inf turfs mean nothing in these areas. I have reached Casula. Getting towards the edge of the city but still in it. Can't believe I have reached hop 50 and still in Sydney.

April 27
I'm on the F1 freeway at last. Hopping is much cheaper here and I have picked up the pace a bit reaching Douglas Park on hop 100. I am leaving every 50th turf so I can track my progress and regretting not leaving my 1st hop Turf to mark the start of my journey.

Quite a few big players still leaving paths around here. Able to keep a low profile thanks to the high influence maintained by a few bigger players. I have now reached hop 150 in Willow Vale.

May 3
Had to slow down over the weekend. That and work is getting busier. Hop 200 has me at Sutton Forest. This is normally my pit stop when driving for a quick bite to eat. It usually takes me 3 hours to get here. Hopping it has taken 9 days. This trip to Melbourne may take longer than I thought.

I've been discouraged by my lack of progress. Hop 250 has me at Marulan. This is my naughty KFC treat on the way home from Canberra. Maybe this will reenergize me.

It seems to have worked, hop 300 has me at Yarra. I'm past Goulburn. Now a difficult decision, South through Canberra or West to Yass. Looking at the map, it looks like a better run through Yass so West it is. I've also picked up and dropped a few capo's in the area. A quick PM that I am just hopping through has meant no offense has been taken.

Had to use my first police map. Most hops have been made from an 86 turf. A couple from a 137 (where can I get a spare Bagman???) but this time I had to use the police map from a 137 turf. Have I made the wrong decision in going West, only time will tell.

Reached Yass on hop 400. A few deadspots but tapping to the side of the freeway has helped as has the loot upgrades to give me that extra distance. I am now in new territory, lands I even as a true blue Aussie have not walked. It is nice though to finally see a friendly Turf from Mr G. I resist the urge to tap it once to say hello...

I hate to comment and disrupt your diary's flow, mate, but this is epic. I flew from Melbourne to Sydney - I would never have even considered hopping that distance! You sir, are a noob legend.😜

Brrrr it's cold out here at night but the stars are beautiful. Hop 450 and I am camped beside a small river outside Bookham. A couple of others have left their turf in the area but it looks peaceful. I have had a look at my progress and I figure I am a bit over a third of the way there. I estimate this will be about a 1,100 hop trip. Currently I have spent $1.7m x 454 on turf + planting costs, so approx $850,000,000

I did a quick check ad it is roughly 876.8 KM. Roughly 600-700 miles based on my rough guess. Good hopping 👍
