To show you what I mean everyone knows fox news is right wing, CNN is left wing. Look RIGHT now (hopefully from iPhone) at fox news website try and find the soldiers pictures article. Not from typing search just clicking around. Now go to CNN BAM right on the front first thing you see. Both news media agencies have a different agenda. Also start to realize when they do report on the same topic look at the wording, what each news agency focuses more on in the article. I'm not saying you can't find it at all on fox but it is definitely more difficult to locate then CNN. And it's not as "newsworthy?"

Among you? Look at the context of what is said these are for people who are already living under the law. In that society itself. If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant; 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel; 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

Notice earlier when I said you will have to go to Deuteronomy and take things out of context. It's exactly what you did. Funny. These aren't scripture of "spreading your religion with the sword" as the Quran teaches. These are verses that are guiding people WHO HAVE already converted and subjected themselves to the law. If you ask the Christians in here about the laws you are giving they will tell you the new testament fulfilled the law and that is why they do not live by that nor do others in modern culture. So you are bringing things in that do not apply after 35 AD. I am giving you scriptures in the Quran that still apply today for them.
-
There are a total of 620 mitzvah's or "laws." after 35 AD and this is in the holy bible you said contains these words.
"For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace." (Romans 6:14 NIV)
If you understood in context any of the instances you speak of you'd realize that the Holy Bible consists of 66 books, you have to also take in context that which you give. No one follows the law anymore. It is summed up.. -
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:36-40 NIV)

Wow Sammy guns, very well said👏
I was about to go on a rant but you have said what was needed to be said very well and professionally. Good job.

There is no doubt the media has a preferred narrative (bias) it likes to promote. And no doubt many stories are edited or squashed or promoted in order to advance that narrative.I only mentioned profits earlier because I didn't want to be overly cynical all at once.
No doubt preferred narrative ( bias) and desire for profit=twisted one sided and sensationalized reporting.
-
No he hasn't was has needed to be said. Sorry that your interpretation differs then what was printed and that your book contradicts itself. He says I took the bible out of context when he is equally guilty of doing the same with the Quran

Mitzvah to some. I think it may depend whether you are Hasidic Jew, orthodox jew or liberal conservative. But Jews don't practice what is of old for various reasons depending on what type of Jew you ask. Their is no temple setup for some Jews to still practice. Others feel that was for the culture in that time and was meant as an allegory (I'm talking about in general terms of all mitzvah) but anyhow they would say you've also taken that out of context to twist it. It is in no comparison of the Torah and the Quran and the violence the Quran adheres to for all Muslims against everyone. The Torah was written as a law to guide THEIR people. Not meant for everyone else outside of it. So you have taken it out of context tremendously. -
Quran (2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]... but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah."
You mean this holy book? That calls for the OFFENSIVE slaughter of any non-Muslim?You could also take this as a retaliatory reaction to attack? (and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers].)
-
@Amish Hitman
Do you see News about Christians killing nonbelievers? NO. What you took out of the bible WAS out of context because it does not apply to Christians after Jesus' death. Let's also keep in mind that deuteronomy was written in a world that was very different then the one we are in now.

You could. If you didn't take into account what was actually happening with them in history when they wrote it. They already controlled the area. There was no one oppressing them when that was written, so yes I could see how you could twist that to mean defensively. But I didn't just write offensively because that's how I personally interpreted, I wrote offensively because at the time in history when that part of the Qurans scripture was written they were combatting offensively and in control. You could also take this as a retaliatory reaction to attack? "The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did). The use of the word "persecution" by some Muslim translators is thus disingenuous (the actual Muslim words for persecution - "idtihad" - and oppression - a variation of "z-l-m" - do not appear in the verse). The actual Arabic comes from "fitna" which can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. Taken as a whole, the context makes clear that violence is being authorized until "religion is for Allah" - ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief."

Don't skip words from quotes.
Qur'an (2:191) And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers -

And we can sit here and go back and forth. But as someone else said earlier and I'll say they were right. Because the proof is in the pudding, how many Christians, Jews, or even Buddhists do you see killing people today because they won't convert? Strapping bombs to their BABIES to kill others they deem as unbelievers?
-
We can sit here and go over English to Arabic translation. But the reality is most Christians are pacifist when it comes to their beliefs and are just taught to dust off their feet and walk away if someone rejects their faith. That's it. Not kill them until they accept Allah.

Sound familiar?
Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

Let me get this straight, I am not Muslim, nor am I Christian. I do get annoyed with grossly misquoted/inaccurate remarks designed to inflame - on either side. religionofpeace.com is hardly an unbiased source of information.

What's interesting...is most muslims that aren't in north America and I've even met some here will agree with what I am saying about these verses. Osama bin laden believed in this...they didn't just decide to become terrorists out of the blue, this was the influence.

I have "holy" books from most world religions. Even ones that aren't known as much like Belial's Church of Satan.

I'm not a Christian or muslim either by the way.
