Oh, and the definition of marriage according to the church is between a man & woman, so a gay couple wouldn't qualify.~B~ wrote:
First off, it's not a Right. Marriage is a function of the church, the only reason the government is involved at all is for tax reasons. Second, if you can get the same thing under another name, then its not discrimination.SirWasteAlot wrote:
Calling it something different would be a form of discrimination. No, it has to habe exactly the same name for it to be an equal rightI have a gay uncle, two gay brother-inlaws, & a gay cousin (funny, no lesbians in the family). Marriage is defined as a union between a man and a woman. You want the same thing, fine, I'm all for it, just call it something else.

The the tradition of marriage was around before the church.

I believe religion is very wrong, an should be made illegal. But I still hang out with religious people. I hate religion with a passion. Does that give me the right to try and ruin their lives by try to pass laws to lesson them? NO. So just because you don't like homosexuality, it doesn't give ANYONE the right to try and lesson them. As sexuality is not chosen, it is pre wired in the brain before birth.....yes it has been proven, and no I will not spoon feed it to you. Go look it up yourself. If anyone is against FULL EQUALITY you are a bigot......simple as that. -

If mariage isn't a freedom then all marriages should be split up. All currently married couples should under pain of death not be allowed to see eachother. There we solved the problem without violating anyone's freedom.

It's fine if a person has there own personal beliefs. I respect that. What I don't respect is if you try to impose yours onto mine.

It's crazy because people get excited when they discover a single cell life in outer space but they don't call a single cell in a woman's womb life.
Enough of that. Onto the topic. :P

Anyone ever notice how "traditional values" and your freedom never seem to coexist? Gay, straight, white, black, man, or woman, Santorum was a threat to the civil liberty of all the people residing in the U.S.
