The irony in mobbing up
Forums › General Discussion › The irony in mobbing up-
So I wondered where this should go & decided on here. It struck me curious as to why the dev mentioned that we do not need 5k mobs to play. Simply put, at 6k mob, the amount of damage inflicted on attacks are standardized in this game. When I was at 2/3k mob and hit a dead/inactive player (1k & fully armed, I can inflict 12-13 attk and get 8 in return before & now. So for all those 5k & above mobsters, we r the dumb ones punching codes cuz as said by dev... U DO NOT NEED it to play.
-
Oh and we should all not complain about getting attacked or capped cuz that is part of the game. But the ratio is just to screw with your mind... And hence the leaderboards too.. Have a good one ppl!

No offense, but that's one of the most useless threads Ive ever read....

... Well, even if his theory was right, what I meant was that it's not gonna change the fact that players will punch codes to get a 5k mob... So, I also found the theory interesting, but unuseful... And as u said, No offense. I'm just stating my opinion. You have the right to have a different one.Devilius wrote:

I wasn't even sleepy. I call it a waste of thread.

The pt is that e1 damage inflicted to & received from a weaker player will almost always be 8 damage to stronger player(regardless of mob size). If you are the stronger player, the damage inflicted is 19-20 if the pax u attk is poorly armed &/or 1k mob. Sorry if it was not clear.

ask matt. Oh wait, you can't. 😭😭😭How complex is the fight algorithm? Is the dev's statement regarding 5k mob merely a reference to The Don? Can a V beat The Don?

Seriously though, how complex is the fight algorithm? What are the known variables? -

this is the exact statement from nick. It was mainly directed at me btwThis game is only about code punching to those who make it about code punching. While you need to do a little code punching to challenge the bigger players, a 5k mob isn't necessary to play the game.
Honestly, if you're only playing the game to have the biggest mob then you're not having fun. There's a line between working a little harder to be at the top and obsessing over it. Let's not get all King of Kong about code punching.

I thought that's what WF was referring to. Nick says 5k isn't necessary to play, people. He didn't say anything about winning. Haha...

I just code punch because I want to keep up with the Joneses.

Hmmmm, I hadn't seen that yet.... Nick is right though. Once you get mob obsessed, it loses it's fun. I almost added codes today on a site, but thought "I don't want to get sucked back in". Maybe that's how I should do it.... just do it when I have time, enter codes and not worry about getting them allnick wrote:

Nicks comment was about me stressing over mob and how obvious it was that I was no longer having fun trying to get every code. He was telling me to let go a little (which I kinda did I guess)

I probably needed to hear those words 3 weeks ago myself.

yeah, you're right B.... and I wouldn't have listened then... my wife was trying to say that too now that I think of it. I was just so deadset that I couldn't play this game without trying to be the top mob..... and I was convinced that. It was such a breath of fresh air to not enter codes anymore.... and I'm gaining about 10 mob members every day just off others inviting me. it's much nicer this way

there's more to it than that. If the v against me was a little mor organized, or if the two strongest had split into two sepearte V's, a few 1k mobs could have had a helluva good time puttin the screws to my 5.5k mob.
And over here 5 knob is detrimental to "having fun". It's allege 2k and under and especially the 1k range that really get to play the game here.
-
I think of having a big mob as a means to an end. I'm not ever going to he able to catch the top players, I started too late in the game's life. But I want as big a mob as possible so I can do what I like about this game, expanding my turfs into new areas and playing in new areas. If I hadn't gotten my mob up into the range it's at now I would never have left my smaller cities I started in and ventured into LA with the big boys (and girls). Which meant I would have gotten bored and maybe not have kept playing for long. But when I moved into LA I got mixed up with a whole new set of players and had a whole new world of things to deal with. Unpleasant as some of it may have been, I'm glad in the end, made me stronger, met some cool people, and ended up having turfs all over the place and not just in my little corner.
-
I look forward to the next couple months when I get a chance to travel east and plan to plant turfs as I go and have fun in new areas. If I hadn't spent time punching codes and mobbing up I wouldn't be able to go into those new areas without being subject to being tossed around by whoever is there.
And as far as the damage issue WindFire (?) was talking about, it is an odd system. It seems like the damage to the attacker should vary depending on the strength of the defender, not just a constant 8 damage. If I hit someone with no weapons an a small mob, I should take no damage, but if I attack someone who's defense is about the same as attack, we should both take 10+ damage. Like in real life, you shoot someone unarmed you don't get hurt, you fight a battle with an army there's going to be damage all around.

I think the resident math professor (not ~matt~) figured that out a long while ago... Should have bought a few more iPods ...

@ belial. Thanks for the name clarification . The characters do mean that.
@ Charlie. Yes there us mire to it than that & thanks.
@ JmanX. That is one theory that I am glad you have so rightfully stated. There should be a difference.
@ I am stating this just to enlighten my fellow TW players & it's your personal choice on whether you would like to know or not. If u ain't got something constructive to say. Keep it to yourself. You can disagree but manners is appreciated unless of course you are mentally challenged & your actions only show who you are.

Maybe this is "mental" damage, or perhaps ricochet damage? 😄 -
