Celsius vs Fahrenheit
Forums › General Discussion › Celsius vs Fahrenheit-
Wht so you think makes more sense? What would you rather have in your country? Why?
I prefer Celsius because it's based on water, it makes sense, and I was raised learning it.
-
We should have it in Kelvin degrees just because. :)
-
F looks nicer... C makes more sense
-
I prefer F because that's what we use. But C really makes mores sense.
-
I think that everyone should use Celsius... It's based on ten and it's the most used... Metic would be the best too!!!
-
I definantly think we should convert to metric and celsius...most others use them and would make lots of things much easier
-
I like fahrenheit, I'm in HVAC and it seems easier to work with because it has a wider range.

But the numbers are like base 6 or 3 and it makes things more confusing.... I would like my water to freeze at zero and biological at one hundred.... My life would be so much easier...I like fahrenheit, I'm in HVAC and it seems easier to work with because it has a wider range.

*boil... Damn autocorrect...
-
Celsius and the metric system make much more sense.

Wasn't there a failed Mars rover that messed up because somebody did half the programming using Metric and somebody else did standard?

Not really. Especially on distance the metric system is in efficient. The numbers un kilometers end up ridiculously high.Celsius and the metric system make much more sense.

Do y'all realize the only people that can use the metric system are scientists and drug dealers?

What Mack is saying that it doesn't really have any benefit to the common man. And he's correct. It's not efficient. And standard isn't that difficult to use

People that grew up with it would say otherwise, B. You probably grew up with it therefor you are for standard and not metric. What Mack is saying that it doesn't really have any benefit to the common man. And he's correct. It's not efficient. And standard isn't that difficult to use

I rest my case that there's no reason to make the switch and have unmanageably long numbers for distance.DRAMABOT 5000 wrote:

I grew up standard, but i like metric a alot more

We switch to metric in Canada when I was in my teen. It wasn't easy at first but the system is much easier to work with an convert. It's all in 10, 100, 1000 etc.

Every country in the world has adopted the Metric System accept for Liberia, Myanmar and the U.S.Aalso, no idea where you'll got standard from, but its actually called imperial
-
Celsius is based on the boiling and freezing points of water.
the distance measurements are all based on the decimal system.imperial is an old school system that doesn't bear any relativity to how we operate in today's world
hence why nearly the entire world adopted metric -
The fact that everyone else has switched Isn't a valid reason.

The average person has absolutely no need for the conversions metric is meant for. So adopting a less efficient system is pointless for the average joe.

Please stop being ignorant. Metric system not only makes much more sense, it's easier! Who wouldn't want that!? The powers of ten are amazing! I can tell you immediately how many centimeters are in 473 kilometers. You on the other hand (to include me!) have no clue, without some calculator help, as to how many inches are in 473 miles.ᏣяλżɏVįқîиg wrote:

Oh and go Celsius! 👍

Amen. Can't believe I'm agreeing with B.

And I don't own any "imperial" tools. I have SAE. Standard American Equvilant.
