I always do year first, then month, then day, then hour, minute, second. And every value is zero padded where appropriate.
That is the only logical way. It is chronological as well as asciibetical.
Why does every country in the world do it wrong?

I demand that all dates include the year of our lord for now on. to do otherwise in incorrect. How else are we to know what system you're using.
