Got to love the media!!You know what pisses me off even more? This professional video on the go, with all the big wigs, hasn't put in enough fucking effort to pronounce Newfoundland correctly.
There is no such thing as unbiased news anymore.
Does seal taste good?

I couldn't actually find the vid you were talking about, however, I did uncover a little bit of info about skinning seals alive. It has been proven, in court, that sealing activists have paid off sealers to skin seals alive for videos. -

I'm to far south though, no seals in Arkansas. I'll have to wait for a trip up north -

Faces of death is a documentary about death, its so graphic that it got banned, i still have the videos, some sick shit on theremr joble wrote:
That shit is fucked up bullshit propaganda. Seals are shot dead before they are skinned. They used to be clubbed in an efficient and relatively painless manner involving a club with a nail. As an example of the propaganda, when a girl was named Miss NL, activists photoshopped a picture of her clubbing a seal completely covered in blood. It pissed me off.I saw that DVD faces of death and there skinning those seals alive and there wriggling around with no skin on due to inefficient clubbing!! Wtf that shit is horrible but a mans gotta eat !

Yessir. I don't even know if I've ever had it. Probably as a youngster. Father hates it so we don't eat it. But, most who have don't like it, course some do. I would love to have some. Have you ever had moose?TheNewfieBullet wrote:

Provided it's regulated it's just another animal to hunt. I'm not a fan of trophy/sport hunting unless it is part of a culling program. If you want to see how good a shot you are go nail up a target. Regulation is the key though, people need to know what they can and can't do.

It has been proven, in court, that sealing activists have paid off sealers to skin seals alive for videos. This is another concern, not that the sealers were paid to do it but that they actually did it! That is simply cruel and I would hope they got nailed for it (activists as well) and lose their jobs.

@ Newfie
No moose. But elk, deer squirrel, and horse once....found out after the fact ( I was in Mexico) and some other stuff, lol -

If they need culling and not endangered and like all meat beef ect if it's done in a quick as less painfull way and consumed then it is just another food source, if it's beaten to death and not quickly killed then I am against it the same would go for beef ect, just because someone wants to eat it doesn't mean it should suffer

People do eat it. However, the more industrialized process doesn't take the meat and or the blubber often times. The classic practice has always been killing it pelting it, taking its meat and its blubber. But, people realize tht the pelts are really what makes the money and have taken advantage of it.If they need culling and not endangered and like all meat beef ect if it's done in a quick as less painfull way and consumed then it is just another food source, if it's beaten to death and not quickly killed then I am against it the same would go for beef ect, just because someone wants to eat it doesn't mean it should suffer

Hopefully not checking for vitals by skinning it! From what the comment was the sealers were paid to skin the seal alive. I know they are supposed to check fit vitals first.Being able to skin something alive means there is something dreadfully wrong with you.El Chubaneebre wrote:

Wikipedia has an article on faces of death ! Be warned it is pretty horrible and disturbing I saw it like 6 years ago and I still remember the wriggling cubs with no skin yuk !
-
I reckon the people who do it don't give a shit Ann's aren't regulated and the only thing there getting paid for is the skins.
-
@newfiebullet -are you even reading the posts you're quoting? Lol you're more interested in the vital signs test than the fact some of the sealers were even able to skin a seal alive?

I've never clubbed a seal but I do some trapping and I use clubs to kill coyotes, bobcats, and coons.

IMO there is nothing wrong with clubbing it is efficient with proper technique and club. However, shooting is the law now, and I guess it is more humane.I've never clubbed a seal but I do some trapping and I use clubs to kill coyotes, bobcats, and coons.
