I'm against hunting unless it's a manhunt for a killer or you NEED to hunt to eat, and that would be a LAST RESORT.Graveyard wrote:
Are you against hunting moose? Caribou? Coyotes (not for food)? Rabbits? Ducks? Other birds?Well...I think the issue involves that they're wild animals. But to make a point, We do slaughter young pigs, calves, young chickens and such without much complaint. I would like to state that I'm against the cub seal hunts for the fact they're wild animals !!
Not only is the seal just another animal, they are pretty ugly (not actually a valid point). They are also killing the cod, a species that has very low numbers in and around Newfoundland shores.

I'm just saying.
99% percent of the news articles or anything you've seen is biased. You're making opinions on what you've seen. Actually look and listen to straight up facts not propaganda.

So a baby seal walks into a club :-). (couldn't help it)

Idk about you cuz I didn't read I just posted this after seeing a couple of people who made some opinions based off of some obvious biased stuff they've heard. If you want some proof look at NBC they'll give you a democratic biased news and FOX gives you a republic biased news. People only make one sided stories for you too see and make it seem like they're giving you all the facts but they don't.ནཝཇངᎯངᎿཔᎦ༽༨རསཁྭ wrote:

Meh. Baby seals are cute. That's the only issue.
I like Dennis Leary on the subject:
"...but we only save the cute ones, don't we. We should interview all the animals. Line them up, one at a time.
'What are you?'
'Im an otter!'
'And what do you do?'
'I swim around on my back all day and do cute little human things with my hands!'
'You're free to go. And what are you?'
'I'm a cow.'
'Get in the truck.'
'But I'm an animal! I have rights!'
'You're a baseball glove, get in the truck.'"

That shit is fucked up bullshit propaganda. Seals are shot dead before they are skinned. They used to be clubbed in an efficient and relatively painless manner involving a club with a nail. As an example of the propaganda, when a girl was named Miss NL, activists photoshopped a picture of her clubbing a seal completely covered in blood. It pissed me off.I saw that DVD faces of death and there skinning those seals alive and there wriggling around with no skin on due to inefficient clubbing!! Wtf that shit is horrible but a mans gotta eat !

Either way, they are trying to make it look wrong.TheNewfieBullet wrote:

Also, the seals that everyone thinks are cute, the white ones (whitecaps). These seals have not been hunted in Canada since 1986.

I got no problem with hunting seals but blaming the seals for the collapse of the cod fishery is bullshit. The cod were severely overfished, in a large part by those Newfie fishermen. It was greed that ruined the cod population, not seals.

Oh I know that, not at all what I'm saying. I meant that they are currently hurting the recovery of the Atlantic cod, they certainly did not cause the collapse of the industry. Also, for the record, if it had of just been simple Newfie fisherman, like it always was, the cod would still be plentiful today. The collapse of the cod was because of foreign ships (trollers is the correct term I believe) that came and had giant freezers and huge nets and fish finders, etc. Newfie fisherman played an INCREBIBLY small part in the ruination of the cod. The trollers would take more fish in 1 day than a normal fisherman would take in a long long time.I got no problem with hunting seals but blaming the seals for the collapse of the cod fishery is bullshit. If they are not endangered eat them or use the fat and skin. It's an animal just like chicken or fish. Farming them would be much more economical. Less energy expenditure larger profits/yield.
-
Seals are assholes anyway. Best to get at them when they are young.
When they get big, they belch loudly right in your face and bite your nose off.

I will next time I get a chance. Think about stuff like Hitlers propaganda around WWII. It showed what they wanted it to show. It couldve been actors. However, it might also be legit and a bad executed clubbing. I'm sure tht whatever it was, it was propoganda or showing a rare incident. Either way, they are trying to make it look wrong.
The film is a documentary on death with some shocking stuff in it I wouldn't watch it again put it that way I think it was more for weirdos or maybe educational rather than propaganda decide for yourself but be warned its pretty horroble -

This is just pissin me off more and more. They don't use clubs, they can't kill seals when they still have their white coats. I'm on YouTube and amazed at the amount of old footage said to be current.

Anybody else have Zappa's "yellow snow" playing in their head right now?

You know what pisses me off even more? This professional video on the go, with all the big wigs, hasn't put in enough fucking effort to pronounce Newfoundland correctly.

There is no such thing as unbiased news anymore.
Does seal taste good?
