Took me 20 years to get to 2nd dan black belt in zen judo. From my experince most MMA fighters come to learn judo for the ground work, arm locks and strangles that only judo can teach will. I Started to teach till 2 ankle ops and work ment I couldnt get my 3rd dan.

I recently received my black belt in Brazilian jujitsu. during a recent sparring session, a training partner and I invented a choke. we call it the front scissor choke, which if properly engaged makes the formerly vulnerable position of being mounted into a very advantageous and offense laiden position. we are training a couple of active local fighters, so i hope to see this technique employed during an actual match.

I use to do some street fighting when I was younger.now I just do bodybuilding.I enjoy it hard work that pays off.great way to blow off steam when ur pissed to.

Tae Kwon Doe is the recent (invented less than 50-60 years ago) Korean copy off of Karate. They made this martial art, basing it on karate. It is not actually karate, although similar. Chito Ryu is another form of karate, not to be confused with Shito Ryu.And here's a quick lesson taikwondo is karate or some other martial art the reason they say karate is to advertise anyways karate only has 8 original style the ones that I remember that is part of the 8 or 9 styles are (shito-Ryu ,shotokan, wado Ryu, goyo Ryu ... And more which I can't remember)

Also, I am thinking about getting into another martial art, though I don't know if I will be able I find the time. Any suggestions? Maybe more useful on the street/in a real fight. The skills and bunkai I have learned over the past 10 years have shown me how to defend myself when attacked, but not so much when in a street fight. Obviously, we have also done kumite, but we are focused on scoring.

Ninjutsu is just the name for all of the branches combined. There is shuriken jutsu and a lot of other things. Stealth, Fighting, and survival is parts of Ninjutsu. Ninjutsu is like art, there are many types of art but all the types of art is considered art. There are many parts of Ninjutsu but, all the parts put together makes up Ninjutsu.

I've taken Krav Maga for years now. When I was young I took Kung fu San soo which is a really dirty style fighting. And when in military they teach Their own Combat stuff but really it's just a mix of other martial arts, grappling etc.
-
But I would recommend Krav Maga over other two. I think women should learn Krav Maga there is some bad ass women in my class. They teach really good rape prevention to women. I've shown to all women in my life. I think every woman should take some self defense classes.

In my Krav Maga class we have a lot of active duty military and police. Although civilians are not allowed to do LE part of training. I can see for certain reasons why.

Not because it's too hard for them or anything. I personally think they should let higher level people do it. They're afraid that sense it is arrest techniques etc that it will be used against them and afraid of knowledge getting out. Really though the mature members I don't see how it wouldn't be bad to incorporate the two.

Shadow forgive my ignorance on ninjutsu(not sure if I spelled that right?) but I had one acquaintance and then one friend who he was teaching that said they were learning ninjutsu. They wanted to show me certain things or whatever I wasn't really interested at the time. But a lot of what I did see them doing was what looked like meditation and just sitting there. (I'm not sure what that was all about) I don't really buy the whole chi thing but they seemed heavily focused on that. I didn't find interest cause it didn't seem practical in a street fight. Is this ninjutsu or something completely off? Lol Like I said forgive me for my ignorance.

I recommend wing chun. It is a very effective art but there are very few schools that actually teach legit wing chun. If you want to find a legit school, look for people who are related to Ip man, or students of those related to him. Also if you can find students of Duncan leung(private student of Ip man who learned all of wing chun including how to apply ot to fights, and the internal art of the gongli) those are legit schools teachers as well.

Kempo, tae kwon doe, jujitsu. Was all a waste of time, except for jujitsu, which is the only martial art I know of that has real world use. I wish I would have spent all those years on jujitsu only, or possibly boxing.

But I like ninjutsu better

the UFC should not be mentioned here... its an insult to martial arts, none of them really use the diffrent techniques like they should be used... IMO granted
i done shotokan karate bout 6 months, been natural weaponist all my life tho.
there is no best style... i think what makes martial arts styles work is a combination on intent, and determination.

I used to do Tae Kwon Do as a kid. Came in handy in a school fight once, my mate went to hit me in the head and I pushed the punch to the back of my skull and broke 2 of his fingers. His still a mate 25 years later and we catch up for beer and poker...I am personally in Tae Kwon Do. but I have been studying Ninjutsu for many years.
