I am against judges decisions, the ten point must system, fighters that can't make weight, and fanboys who think that Dana white invented the UFC.
The Gracies still wouldn't be competetive because 1) They wouldn't be able to take down many MMA fighters today and 2) If they can't get the fight to the ground, their game is gone. Plus, many fighters' BJJ has caught up with the Gracies.
But I agree the 10 pt system is terrible. I prefer Pride rules, especially when it comes to scoring takedowns with no damage.
Sorry, don't wanna hijack the thread. All martial arts are great!

Bruce Lee had his own martial art style that wasn't even close to "MMA" and one of it's top practitioners got owned in the early UFC tourneys. This topic is about ONE specific MA and the leading one is BJJ.TheNewfieBullet wrote:

The best is completely subjective, and it depends what you mean by "the best."
I prefer MMA now. It's Bruce Lee's vision of taking effective moves from various arts. Unless you're a master, kung-fu isn't that practical in a real fight.
And Dino, the Gracies proved BJJ was best in a CAGE fight, and that was years ago. MMA has come a long ways since, and that's why the Gracies no longer do well in the cage.

The Gracie's no longer do well in the cage because of state athletic commissions sanctioning rules. The ten point must system is a joke and both the scoring system and the sanctioning committees work directly against Brazilian ju jitsu...TheNewfieBullet wrote:
