"At risk"
Forums › General Discussion › "At risk"-
Not too surprised, but today I got a letter from my employer stating my job was "at risk".
I work for the UKs National Health Service (NHS). The organisation has been squeezed by national tariffs (what we get per procedure) being cut and local Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) deciding not to send their patients to us. Either by not offering them at all or doing them in their own super medical centres.
The upshot is that the Trust has £20 million less to spend on its services and staff like me are now at risk at redundancy.
I suspect that they are merging my job with someone else's and that we're going to be having to apply for it.
Not a nice surprise from the postman 😪

oh that just sound so bad, you get that info form a letter and not face to face.
Good luck -

That sucks mate, start looking for another job right away, do not wait. I got laid off from Advanced Micro Devices years ago, I didn't start looking for a job right away and ended up on unemployment for six months before landing this job.
Don't wait, start looking now. ✊

Aw mannn! Swags, you should start your own company or something. I'm not sure what your profession is, but surely you could do something for yourself? I couldn't get the apprenticeship I wanted, so instead I began my own construction partnership (with a mate), and I'm also holding down two other part time jobs.

I'm not worrying too much just yet.
We were warned in a meeting 2 weeks ago and I guessed I'd be on the 'hitlist'.
I am a Learning Management System Administator, essentially I look after the organisations training records and analyse them to identify staff who are avoiding their mandatory training.
My colleague is Lead Administrator for the admin team and they have been trying to get rid of her for years (without success).
So, I think they're merging our posts. If this is the case, the lead administrator has already said she will not be applying (cannot do my job) and I'll be OK.
We'll find out more this week after the bosses have met with the unions (Wednesday) and then they meet with us on Thursday.

I'm sure you'll do fine. Good luck swags!

Hop over to westminster and wreck the place!!

Sorry to hear that. My work moved my job inter-state. Whilst it was stressful, it was also the best thing that happened to me. Don't know what benefits you would get from a redundancy but check them out. Maybe this is actually an opportunity in disguise.
I got 6 months pay, and
Outsourced training on:
Writing CV's
Interview Techniques
Identifying Strengths & Weaknesses
Identifying what I enjoy doing. The end result I have been in my dream job for over 9 years. I have been promoted within the company. I have been sent to London for training.
Good Luck

What he said 👆 what an absolute dick. I hope you lose all your turf, maybe you yourself will find yourself in similar circumstances one day and will then appreciate things a bit more before posting idiotic comments.
