Animal cruelty

I know that God exists and that He loves me for no simpler reason than He gave us yummy cows to cook on the grill while sipping an ice cold beer.

One day we will look on animal cruelty as a national epidemic, perhaps not yet. We have no intrinsic right to kill animals...

Think of it as a preservation of life! 😉
speciast logic. We used to believe that we were doing African Americans a favor by enslavement. No species
is helped by cruelty -
Meat is murder. Tasty tasty murder. (saw it in a bumper sticker)

If you believe in God or creationism you should believe animals were created for our benefit and use. If you believe there is no God or evolution you should believe we the top of the food chain and as an animal with natural apitite toward meat we have a right to kill to eat. Just like any other carnivore. That's just logical I think. If the cows don't want me to eat them they shouldnt taste so good or evolve brains enough to move up the food chain.

You're making a 'it's our perogative as superior creatures' argument. 1) what makes us superior? Intelligence? Then why isn't it ok for me to eat mentally handicapped person who has less intellectual
capacity than an ape. 2) it's our natural inclination to rape
an kill- societal constructs have allowed us to rise above that. Perhaps it's time to rise above senseless slaughter- and I believe a merciful
god would support that -

And you're ERin people who don't share your viewpoint?? That's ridiculous. I'm not ERing you right now- I respect your view. Perhaps you should do the same

Survival of the fit. It's how nature works.

so are we no better than Wolves? Hyenas? Rats? Survival of the fittest no longer applies to mens' behavior to eachother... Why should it apply to animals? We've replaced 'survival of the fittest' with society- why can't we continue the progression and do the same with other living beings? We have protein from other sources, we have vitamins- everything that animals supply we are able to synthesize. Again, perhaps it is time to rise above our primordial instincts

If you hadn't used the word "intrinsic", you might have made an argument there.
You can't just make up what natural rights are and are not.
If you are religious, you have the explicit right to kill animals.
If you aren't religious, you have the intrinsic right to kill animals.

It's not kicking, it's "nudging" and it's totally acceptable.

...If you argue we have no moral right to mistreat animals, you'd be right. "Mistreat" implies wrong-doing.
But your definition of mistreatment may vary wildly with sane people's definition.

I believe if I survive another car-versus-running-cow near-death experience this week, whether explixit or intrinsic, it is my right to claim that black, furry disaster as my own and secrete her off to my friends who shall make much steak and other yummy meat products out of her. Lest she turn my car into a bottle-opener and me into some variant of "-plegic." Only thing worse than cows are squirrels.

The cows on my farm aren't crammed in, they have a lot of space.

But meat is so very tasty.

Well maybe you should go to the supermarket more then, all of the meat is basically being sold by 3-4 large corporations at our supermarkets. Now there are farmers who realize its wrong and raise and sell them the right way with plenty of room, food, and no growth hormones. The reason why meat is not very expensive(and i know almost nobody complains about them) is because their mass producing it. They inject growth hormons into their animals like for example the chicken, they cram chickens into long housing like structures with almost no light to get in their and they mature around half the time they normally would with them getting a bigger body then they should have and some just die because there organs can not handle the stress . But im pretty sure if no one bought the meat from the large corporations and bought from small organic farmers what is being put out on the supermarket would be changed fast.snipped

Exactly. We like it this way. Demand <= Supply. What's the problem? -

Well lets say we didnt have fast food or farmers we would still have to kill animals to get food, we cant just take a part of the animal and just leave it thats animal cruelity, but i do understand where your coming from, id rather us eat organic animals as they are grown normally and killed in a more humane way or traditional.Brown🎵Note😲 wrote:

Hasnt anyone seen a corn field now that is cramped poor corn fighting with each other over soil nutrients and water and sun light ... Then they get mowed down by some big machine and chopped to pieces. Now thats cruelty!
