The objective of the Korean War was to stop the spread of communism which was a success.
Neither Afghanistan nor Iraq were full scale invasions therefore not requiring the full US military might.

The numbers tell the story: of the 308m+ citizens in the us 30% have passports.
There were 61.5m trips outside the us in 2009 down 3% from 2008, according to the office of travel and tourism industries. About 50% of those trips were to either Mexico or Canada, destinations that didn't require a passport until 2007.
Despite the climbing number of passports in circulation, 30% is still low compared to Canada's 60% and the UK's 75%.

@Hyena: I'm sure many of us Americans would absolutely love to travel to abroad, but it's expensive. I can't afford to blow a few grand flying across the ocean to go see the Eiffel Tower on a whim. I can barely afford to drive to the next state.

Hyena-You also have to realize the size difference. England is the size of one of our states. You have to travel to see new scenery. We have to drive maybe one or two states away to get a complete shift of day to day life. And canada google says has 33.1 million so just over half of them have passports? That's like 20 million which is still less than the united state's 30% (92.4 million.)

And Russia lost a war their war with Japan in 1905 even though everyone thought they would win and their lines comepletly dissolved in WWI. And the soviets lost to the Taliban in Afghanistan. As did Britain.
