My view exactly. I think your buddy did it and didn't have the balls to tell u. And to my knowledge Nick has never reinstated someone who reset themself. So this isn't favoritism here. If he does it once a Pandoras box gets opened. "Chainedhunter got reinstated, why can't I?"I think if ya accidentally pressed the reset button it is your own fault, what if nick did reinstate the account and someone who has reset before comes out and says, I want my account back, I was cheated and pressed reset by accident! Not feasible, I think you will just need to move on and either mob up again or quit entirely. No insurance, it's only a game!

Actually objectively speaking, per say, someone who was in a war could reset and then bug support to roll back his account so its risky, but i do think you should get it back in this instance

This is exactly that. -
But if I'm going to invest I expect to be protected. Or I'm not going to invest. The game should have some form of acct protection IMO

He should still have protection. It shouldn't be crap out of luck. We shouldn't even have a reset feature. No one uses it anywaysTheRamb Add: 86 wrote:

I was just about to spend some money for a little boost and now I'm worried so think I'll hold off to see how this turns out ?

Maybe if u want to reset u have to put in your inv codw as confirmation? Probably the most feasible way of resolving this...

Some valid points have been raised about account security. Given some unclear (and several untrue, more on that later) statements in this thread, I must make a few clarifications:
- First off: in more than 2 years of Turf Wars, no one's account has been "hacked". Really. Every case of account theft to date involved family members or friends who gained physical access to a device, or were given login/UDID credentials.
- All logins on the website and all checkins after initial registration/login on devices are encrypted with bank-grade encryption - this protects your password from being sniffed by others.
- There are roughly 10^50 (a metric shit-ton) of UDID combinations - which means people can't just switch their device's UDID to access your account.
- The entire Turf Wars database is backed up several times per day, and backups are stored offsite at a secure high-redundancy facility - this means we can restore any account to within a few hours of any given time period.
-
👍 works for me take my money!💰
-
Hi nick 😃
Thanks for clarifying.
-
Hmm. But with regards to the udid thing it has a random option. Doesn't that mean there's a small chance that it could happen? Even if it's minuscule?
-
That being said, management of accounts is entirely the responsibility of the account owner. If you give your device or password to a buddy (which is against the TOS anyway), and they reset you, your account will not be restored.
For obvious privacy reasons, we can't discuss chainedhunter/zUntamed's situation in detail. However, we did review his case in detail and determined no hacking occurred.
-
Hope he is typing more. Doesn't really make me feel any safer....
-
Can I get a "metric shit-ton" of don points please? LOL

From what we've seen, UDID spoofing utilities aren't 100% random, so if your device's UDID was changed that way, your risks are increased.Hmm. But with regards to the udid thing it has a random option. Doesn't that mean there's a small chance that it could happen? Even if it's minuscule?

Same reason I wasn't restored when I reset Bugsy Siegel. No hacking occurred. Keep your device in your own handsSo if it's backed up several times per day, why can you not restore mine?

As Belial said, there isn't exactly an instruction manual for unattaching an account from a device. How was I supposed to know restoring my iPod wouldn't wipe off my account?
-
So if my 5 year old resets my account after watching a movie, I'm just screwed?

Besides, I actually did message support asking how to do it. No answer. I asked them 4 days before I sold the iPod to my friend. I haven't spent as much as the big players here, but I've still spent $200+. I find it hard to understand how it's not my option to have the reset button removed or have a PIN on it....

That's possible. I confess an ignorance in this matter as I've never used udid utility. Even when I was jailbroken⌖🔥Belial🔥⌖ wrote:

So if your 5 year old smashes you're tv after after watching a movie, the electronic store should replace it? Basically the same thing, protect your property! B stop being such a drama queen, if Nicks clarification was not clear enough, march on! Show some of that maturity you talk so much about, and go back to the big boy table! If chainedhunter didn't secure his account prior to sale, then it's no longer his property to cry about.mackmech wrote:

Hey bones. If my 5 year old smashes my TV I can call my home owners insurance company and get a new TV. Or I at least have the option of replacing that TV with one exactly like it. Not if SHE wipes my TW account I don't. And I've spent more on TW than u did on my TV.
