I love it when people talk shit about texans, such a blanket observation is bound for failure.
I also love it when someone says we are judgemental and that we suck and Texas sucks. Lol can anyone see the irony in that or is it just me??
Texas still refuses to lower ourselves to these methods of ridicule, rather, we use intelligence and know two things are for sure. One, is that an opinion is just that, and two, not everybody is the same in an entire state. People are different everywhere.
And thnx to everyone who doesn't place such stereo types on Texas.

Anyone who thinks all Texans are the same probably haven't been to Texas, and DEFINITELY haven't been to Austin.
-
I love when I play British kids on xbox live that say all Americans are assholes...it's like this Texas thing on the next level...oh I'm sorry I didn't realize you knew ALL the people in that country. There's douchebags everywhere but there's Awesome people everywhere too. It's easy enough to ignore the douchebags but if your not open to the good people ,wherever you may be, then you're going to have a sad lonely negative life.

Texas has almost everything to offer.
An ocean, open land, 3 of the 10th largest U.S. Cities, lots of history, desert like terrain in the west, hill country in central, huge trees and greenery in the east.
We have everything but mountains.

I love it when Texans grant validity to a dumb insult about Texas by arguing passionately and vociferously against it, thus leading one to wonder if there actually is something wrong with Texas

just giving my opinion littleguy. I find it ironic when someone says we suck because we are judgemental. Wow, very simpleton thinking there. What, you are 14 you said right? Maybe you should run along and go play now

That's not what I said. Do you have trouble reading? yes it is. You ensinuated that because i "argued against it passionately and vociferously" that something might indeed be wrong with Texas. Meaning, by me offering up ideas, something might in fact be wrong with Texas, as a state.
First of all i wasn't arguing passionately, just giving some ideas about Texas to those who don't know much about it. Secondly, how does that equate to something might actually be wrong with Texas??
Just stop seriously. Your attempt to sound smart is without logical reasoning behind it.

I just don't see why people let these insults get to them. Usually they're too stupid to be argued against anyway

Not bad mouthing, but I never did like Texas 😼

It doesn't get to me honestly, simply because people have opinions. My point here is to point out someone saying time and time again how texans suck and are judgemental and Texas sucks, but in doing so, has displayed exactly what he claims we are. And, in fact, has probably not even been here for any length of time.
Stereotypical thoughts based on superficial idea's and emotions stemming from
one guy or small group leads to misguided beliefs. -

of Boston, is much much better than UT Austin (a state school). -
Let me refine this, when I say 'none' I should have said 'most'. I'm sure there's a janitor or two from there.

Even tho your team is dalas. Philly loves TX. Cheers peeps!

Having visited there in an interview for grad school, there are scholars from Texas which attend and research there.
Also, being a state school means nothing to it's academic prowess. Or are you going to dismiss Berkeley and UCLA in the same fashion?

As for the other schools u mentioned, having a good football program doesn't make u a good school, despite what they teach u down there.p s i wrote:

A quick scan of the UT faculty shows me that of the 4 people of the faculty who got their degrees in Texas, 3 are lectures (the lowest possible position, meaning no phd required).

Look, I work at a state school, and we are a research 1 institution. But let me tell u, the last thing on our agenda is the education of students.

They don't teach me anything down here, I'm from California and I've never lived in Texas. Check that list again and tell me rice is known for it's football team, not it's academics.
They are also all mainly lecturers because getting a professor ship at your Alma mater is a pain in the ass at any school. Pretending that Texas doesn't have scholars doesn't make it so, despite what they teach you up there at the ivy that you implied that you went to. Texas has some great schools which hve created good Texan scholars.
P.S. GWB went to Yale, up in your neck of the woods.

Gary Winogrand taught in Houston. Hell, mission control is in Houston. Are you suggesting that there is something genetically different about Texans that no intelligence comes from there?
What evil came from Texas that haunts you, o learned punk?
Perhaps there is something wrong with your thinking.
