Gingrich - WTF?
Forums › General Discussion › Gingrich - WTF?-
All I've been hearing lately is how Newt's ex and her interview is going to hurt his support among women.
Someone explain to me why only women are impacted by this interview. What mysterious vagina vibes make this man unacceptable to lead the country, while according to the media, men haven't changed their opinion of him?
Honestly, what is the psychology here?

I suppose they're not banking on any of us having brains...like others in this thread...or having brains. Historically the country elects married, white males within a certain age bracket to most political positions. I'm sure they're doing anything they can to point out his peg isn't the same shape as the hole--even if it's by subconscious suggestion. Really, though, if you throw a rock in the mall you're gonna hit at least one divorced American...probably two. Three on a good bounce. Unless they're televising footage of him whipping her with chains...I already know they're divorced, thanks.

👆bad editing...deal with it.

At least he's cool with the bluh folk!

I have a big probl believing anybody's exwife. My 2 would say I was the third gunman on the grassy knoll if anybody would listen!!!

I wonder how much the magazines are paying her for the interviews. Sounds like she's in business. But who knows. I've yet to see an ideal candidate on either side of the party line.

Think that's the right way round. -

Gingrich admits to everything his ex is accusing him of. She's not making shit up. This stuff is already well documented. It doesn't seem to matter to his supporters however.

The reason that these accusations will hurt him among women voters is because what woman hasn't felt the pain of being cheated on? That makes them not like Newt on a personal level regardless if they agree politically with him. It's much harder for someone to vote for a person that they do not like even if they agree with their politics.

Jeff, what makes you think that he is a racist or bigot? What has he done to indicate this? I'd like to know since I've never seen any indication of this.

Excuse me.
Bi-got. [big-uht] noun
A person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.
(dictionary.reference.com)
Don't you think calling him a bigot is somewhat of an exaggeration? A political bigot would never sit on a bench with the wicked witch of the dems.
And no, I won't say he's racist or intolerant. I'd say anyone into open marriage (if that's really what he asked for (not)) is an open minded kinda cat.
Conservatism does not endorse race or class differences. You are thinking of Democrats.

Excuse me? Conservatives are more widely seen to be prejudice towards other races and ideals! And the definition I found for bigotry is: a bigot is a person obstinately or I tolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of different beliefs. Yeah, it may be a slight over exaggeration. He is a mild bigot if anything, I feel. And let's not get a gay marraige thing started here as well.Jeff 🍆 Newton wrote:snipped*

Have you read Newts dumb statements about women in combat, or how he feels it is "habits" that keep black people poor.

Conservatism dictates race, class, gender, and religious blindness.
Some idiots claiming to be conservatives are racist intolerant bastages...
But the only American ideology that encourages distinctions based on race, class, gender, etc. is the democratic party.

I do find it amusing that anyone won conplain about what's happening to him after the huge campaign against Clinton. Everyone knows Gingrich is a black kettle.

Right but if you're gay you need to know your place! What world to you live in?
Wonder if Newt's spoken to his sister lately...

So, let's be clear. The one thing democrats are talking about now that women's rights are mostly settled are gay rights. I take it you are going with the slant that we shouldn't make concessions for gay rights? The conservative line is that they aren't taking away their rights if they still have the right to marry the opposite sex, right? Ha, and where did that right come from? Religion? I do believe we aren't suppose to mix religion and politics. The only thing democrats do is identify when people are discriminated against unlike conservatives that do the discriminating. (not all-just the party in general)Conservatism dictates race, class, gender, and religious blindness.

I think both Republicans and Democrats are missing the entire point on government recognized marriage. The government recognized marriages, which are a religious event, because it is long held that a household with a mother and father are a stable base for society. This is a direct recognition of a religious institute. The benefits of marriage, as recognized by government is mainly taxed based. The government should stop it's social engineering experiment and tax married and unmarried couples, alike. There should be civil unions for other issues such as property rights.
-
And to address discrimination against races, religions, etc.
There is no difference between either party when it comes to discrimination. Bigots make up both parties equally. The reason that you are brainwashed into believing that racism is a "conservative" attribute is because conservatives are portrayed to not be tolerant of different or progressive ideas. That's not really the case. Conservatives are not willing to bend their beliefs to include these progressive ideas, but do not oppose people having the free will to practice them. The problem lies with progressives insisting that conservatives adopt the progressive beliefs and use insults and condemnation when they do not. Looking back into history, the predominence of racism can be linked to the democratic party. I'm not saying that the democratic party is a racist organization, but if you do not recognize the amount of racism that is part of the party, then you are not being honest.
-
All those dixie democrats jumped to the republican party when the civil rights bill passed.
-
I think this is Ralph Nader's year. Neither of the two main parties have a worthy candidate for our presidency. Look out world, the Green party is in it, to win it!
