I'm away on holidays connected via wifi and my location comes up somewhere overseas! It's not my fault so if I lay turf here is that counted as cheating or just taking advantage of a bug in the game???

Listen, its simple. This game is gps based, on your specific location. That's why gps spoofing will get you banned, because your placing turf somewhere you're not actually at.
Its a glitch within the system, and is the same as gps spoofing, just unintentional spoofing.
I dont care if you have an itouch, i have an iphone and i cant claim somewhere i am not. Get over it.
Typical europeans looking for easy way out

For a start, the OP is Australian, so not a lazy European. Secondly, if you placed turf next to me through exploiting something like that, I'd say well played. If you were spoofing from a jailbroken device, then I'd have a problem. But saying you wouldn't take advantage of that is just false. It's like being undercharged in a store and going back and returning your extra change. Would you do that?

Oh, so exploiting a KNOWN problem is ok? Look up the word exploit please.
End result of gps spoofing, and this EXPLOIT, placing turf somewhere you are not.
Its wrong no matter how you try to spin it.

It's not an expolit it's a misunderstanding if nick thinks it's cheating he can remove the turf placed and so on

I can guarantee you Nick doesn't like the idea.
Otherwise the game wouldn't be gps based. Anyone could plant anywhere.
Just stop trying to make it ok. In the best interest of the game ALL exploits and glitches need to be fixed and this goes for every game.
I'm done talking to you simple minded sheep. I've made my statement, and don't use Nicks lack of attention on this matter as a sign that its ok to exploit problems with the GPS.
