Bring them into it! Mecha goblins/astronermers and dark magic warping them in oo

Hectatimus cut down the last goblin warrior. An incredible darkness passed over the battlefield and Hectatimus looked up to see some kind of ship gliding through the air high above them. It was like nothing he had ever seen, and it was huge. The ship was smoking from what he could see—aparantly it had sustained damage. It took several minutes to pass and Hectatimus saw it was headed on a crash course towards the Kavan Mountain Range. "It's just like the prophecy said!" came a voice from nearby.
-
The ship contained technologies no one on Earth had seen for thousands of years- not since the time of Yarrow, when many of their kind had been taken by unearthly beings and whisked off into the Skies—presumably taken straight into Heaven. Hectatimus too remembered the Prophecy of Old, declaring a return of those beings and that their holy ship would malfunction and crash. Certainly this was the ship the prophecy spoke of. "We have to follow that ship!" someone yelled. Hectatimus yelled back, "we must remain here and defend Winthrede! When the battle is over we will find the ship and learn all of its secrets." A mumble of agreement throughout his soldiers. Looking to the west, Hectatimus saw the next wave of goblins coming their way. No more time to talk, the fight was on.

ship. Beside him was Myers, holding a handheld Ghost module. The piece of technology moved someone's consciousness to another body, feigning the original hosts death. "You cut it close, Myers." Myers laughed. "Sorry boss. You didn't think I would forget, did you?" "Not until... Well never mind. We have work to do." He looked at his new body, a middle aged redhead crewman. "My mission was a success. The humans are at war; they are weakened. Myrtle has struck and the Process has begun." Myers hesitated before responding. "Sir, there is one thing... Bar'ahla's ship crashed not far from the humans in question." Weryte rubbed his chin. This might be a way to save the humans. After all, they had ninety days before Myrtle's Process spiked to full power. Was ninety days enough time for the humans to salvage the technologies of Bar'ahla's ship and save themselves?
-
Weryte and the so-called Ghosts of Harbor had never really wanted the humans to die, it was simply a means to an end: showing that they would serve the Uryglaccons and gain their trust. The Ghosts would use that trust to complete what their ancestors, the first Advanced Humans, had started—annihilation of the plague called Uryglaccons. Finally, Weryte answered, "Good. Remotely enable the ship's emergency message, but keep the power to a minimum, so the only ones to find the message would be the people to explore the ship. Set the message to this:" Weryte explained how to recreate certain technologies like the Terraform Disablers and protective armors and masks. "You must create these products in enough supply to protect the race of humans before 156 human days from the day this ship crashed if you want to survive as a race," he concluded. Myers finished typing on his display screen. "Anything else?" "That's all," answered Weryte.

The knights of Winthrede had finally repelled the invading armies, but at a high cost. Hectatimus had burst into Myrtle's chambers to find no evidence of her whatsoever. It was as if she had vanished. The battlements and walls had suffered major damage in some places and the outlying areas of the city ransacked before the knights beat them back. Corpses lined the streets and covered the plains surrounding Winthrede. A terrible stench of decay rested over Winthrede. The day after the battle had ended, and soldiers were already preparing to investigate the alien ship that crash landed several miles from Winthrede. Hectatimus was among them, wielding the ancient blade of Jarvon, Bonesaw Fifty men stood at the city gates, preparing to leave for this new adventure. At their head was none other than King Aflred of The Western Lands, which Winthrede was the capital city of.

[just a small note, wasn't it 90 days? Weryte said 153 then.]

The townspeople were gathered by the gates, the men's wives were fussing over them, making sure they had their armor polished, the young lads were reenacting the battle, the biggest child was the hero Hectatamus, armed with a stick, hitting the younger boys as they represented the trolls. Students were watching from the windows of the Academy, as the professor droned on about philosophy. When the men were fully ready, King Alfred mounted his white horse and spoke, "Men, we are embarking on a journey to investigate the mysterious object that fell into the Kavan Mountains 1 day ago. It will be a perilous journey, frought with danger, that is why I chose the bravest among us to go on this trek. Until I return, Prince Arthur shall rule in my place." Unbeknownst to the king, Arthur had been hiding his true desire for power from his father, and had hired a gang of mercenaries to assassinate him on the quest.
-
The king continued on, until his wife, the Queen Marjorie, whispered to him, he chuckled and sent the order to raise the city gates. As the gates opened, Hectatamus saw the fallen, some already rotted, and the stench hit him, making his eyes water. The King spurred his horse forward, and they were off. Meanwhile, in the countryside. A young boy by the name of Yohan begins his day. He is a farm boy, his father was a poor farmer with no planting skills whatsoever, his mother was to be the wife of a Prince in a far-off land, but that was not meant to be. She used to be royalty, she was the daughter of a noble in a kingdom that was in turmoil. Her family was killed off by the warlord Emporer Jierda. She escaped, and disguised herself as a peasant woman and was meant to return to her homeland once her uncle regained his seat on the throne and Jierda was killed, but alas, that never occurred, she settled down and had a son.
-
Yohan was feeding the chickens with some corn, as he does every day. He pauses to wipe his brow, it gets hotter earlier, he noted, I should tell father we may need to increase the time the livestock are in their shed. Heatstroke this close to Market Day would not do well. He spots a group of men over the horizon, moving from the city on the main road. He runs inside, bandits frequently pass, killing all who stand in their way. But as the men approached, he saw the king at the head. He rushed outside and knelt, bowing his head. As he did so, several arrow shots fire over his head, striking some soldiers, felling 3. A soldier cries out, "Bandits!" Yohan sprinted for the house, arrows flying all around him, he reaches the house, and begins to search for his prized possessions, a dagger, a helmet and a bow. He made the bow and arrows himself, the helmet was a gift from his great uncle, and the dagger was a common kitchen knife.
-
He heard a scream from his parent's room. He crept to the curtain and peeked in, a bandit was standing over the bodies of his parents. Yohan ran at the man, stabbing him with his dagger, as the bandit gasped in surprise. Yohan fought back tears as he ran to the window and saw that the bandits had taken positions in the barnyard. He began firing arrows from the window, striking a bandit in the legs. He was the obvious leader of the group, and when he fell, the bandits scattered, not before shooting through the windows of the farmhouse and the advancing army. Yohan ran out and stepped on the Bandit Leader's chest. "Please, don't kill me." He pleaded. Yohan stared down at him. "Damn You." And plunged his dagger into the leader's neck. The tears began to flow as he began to stab over and over again. "God- damn- you-" he chanted almost rhythmically. He was pulled up by Hectatamus.

[im done for now, if your wondering about Yohan, I've got big aspirations for him. Not sure what they are, exactly, but BIG.]

2 Days Later
The journeying knights sat atop their horses, the first few horsemen perched atop a hill crest with the starship remains in plain few. They were still a few miles away, and night was almost on them. Hectatimus and the others had ridden since dawn with only three or four breaks. King Alfred spurred his horse and shouted, "Onward! We're almost there." Alfred had wanted to make it by nightfall but to Hectatimus it seemed they would not make it. Alfred still had high hopes of completing the journey today, and Hectatimus suspected he would journey into the night if necessary. Traveling by night was dangerous; the paths were hard to see, dangerous creatures came out of the forests and bogs; and it was rumored people's 'dark side' became consious and influenced their thoughts for the worst. It was best to sleep away the spirits inside then to test if they really exist, but the king was obsessed with getting to the crash site quickly.

Please continue...

Hectatimus heard a commotion nearby and wandered from the group to investigate. He arrived at a ransacked barn and opened the creaking wooden door. A young boy was kneeling over two corpses, clutching a knive in his hand and breathing heavily. The boy dropped the knife with a clatter and began to sob, resting a head on the woman's bloody body and murmuring "mother..." Hectatimus crouched down beside the boy. The soldiers had seen bandits fleeing from this location but had made nothing of it. The boy looked up at Hectatimus and his heart skipped a beat. On his forehead was a blood spatter in the mark of the arachnids, an hourglass with 8 spiky legs coming out, the sacred symbol of prophecies about an incredible warrior. It was no coincidence. Hectatimus pulled the boy to his feet, and said, "you have to come with me." He walked the boy back to the path the soldiers had been following.
-
His comrades were nowhere in sight. "Dammit..." Thought Hectatimus. "They left me!" And then he realized that it was his own stupidity, that he had left the group. Maybe it was worth it. He now had located the so-called Son of the Spider, and at least knew to where the soldiers were heading. So Hectatimus and the boy, who he had learned was named Yohan, followed the trail through the forest as darkness closed in on them. Hectatimus didn't want to journey through the darkness, but staying out in the dark alone was worse, so they continued as the last ray of sunlight disappeared beneath the mountaintops to the west.

[wonder if this guy ever got help in his v]
-
The pair scuttled through the trees in almost pitch black night. Behind them a pack of were-lions were on the hunt. thought Yohan as he sprinted even faster. The monstrosities were edging closer every minute. They were sleek and long, their matted fur dark and menacing, with huge jutting teeth the size of steak knives dripping with saliva and blood. In his panic, Yohan's leg struck an arching root and he slammed into the ground. Hectatimus stood over him, ready to fight off the were-lions, but Yohan pointed his finger at the nearest lions and spiders burst out of their bodies, consuming them from the inside out. Their corpses slowed the rest. "Now's our chance!" exclaimed Hectatimus. He and the boy dashed away from the dying lions and to their surprise emerged at edge of a huge snowy tundra. After gaining sufficient distance, Hectatimus looked at some tracks on the ground. "They've been here," he said. The tracks were probably 2 hours old. They continued through the tundra, cold and hungry yet determined.
