I started playing in Aug 2011 and would still class myself as a newbie to this game, up to today i should count myself luck that i hadn't any trouble untill today losing a turf (this i put down to someone being maxed out on turfs and wanted the protection money i was earning off a couple of turfs and so as i was in range used me) and getting attacked on 8 times a day by another player (cheers Add Rob).
This is not a moan topic as im fully aware that either player hasnt broke any offical rules after all its "all part of the game", still i can see how a much bigger player actions ie beating down on a Newbie can take the fun out of the game and thus they simply give up early on. I have to admit the thoughts crossed my mind tonight of packing in and leaving the game.
like to hear from what i call the Vets in this game after all they too where newbies once and how they first managed in the months playing the game to start with?

If getting attacked 8 times a day & having 1 turf capped makes any player want to quit, then this game is not for them.
-
Every game needs new players to keep going as old one leaves but if them new ones dont hang around either .....
-
The concept of the game is not as one would put it a 'nice' guy game. The idea is to fight & cap, some people take it literally and let loose like just coming out of prison while others show more restraint.
As you have rightly put, it's not pleasant and can bring the best or worst out of someone( though the latter is what's more common). Mob up & play the style you are comfortable with but know that not everyone plays the same way. Happy turfing!

My statement still stands. The game is called Turf Wars. What you described is part of everyday playing. Players are protected until level 15. After that, they either learn to play the game or quit. This game isn't for everyone & that's fine. I'd rather have 5 players that enjoy the game over 20 that whine every time something happens.Every game needs new players to keep going as old one leaves but if them new ones dont hang around either .....

Im fully aware it's all part of The game and not moaning about what's gone on. Just saying from a newbie view it is hard to get into and can see why many drop out.
-
Everyone is different. That actually motivates some to mob up.
-
Believe it or not, we were all noobs at 1 point. We wern't given these stats, we earned them through time, effort and patience.
-
In my original post I did want to hear from vets and how they managed when they started
-
Many of us had to leanr the stats without the benefit of the knowledge you have available should you choose to look. Most of the vets when I hooked kept their game secrets well. You have so much more to help you through mow than we did
-
When I started I stayed under level 25 & mobbed up. I think I had at least 2k before I reached level 25. In fact att hit level 30 before I hit 25 (despite starting 6 weeks after me) and had to encourage me to take the "leap." (I was paranoid about V's since I didn't understand them.) That's the secret I'll share - stay at a low level, mob up, & read all the info you can find. I posted an entire (long) page of tips on the wiki & already left the link on your wall. Anything that's not on there, I'm not willing to share. You'll have to ask someone else or learn on your own.

Speaking with a business point of view, the developer would want a large variety of players to get the most revenue (in this case from don point purchases). With new players quitting even faster than before there aren't much incentive for new lowbies to keep playing. I've been punching codes for the past two weeks (probably over 10-15k) and have only gotten like 100-150 mobs max. That's a substantially low rate of return for a very large amount of time punching codes. Also I can't stop others from punching codes, so if the high mob players are also punching effectively the same codes as me at the same time as me roughly then our mob difference will stay about the same. This in effect doesn't help any low/new players.

As stated. It's different for everyone. 3 days into the game a player just constantly put me in the ER. When I had no Don protection he capped ALL my turf. I even drove out of my home town to plant. He hopped to it and destroyed. Motivated me to mob up, talk to other players and learn the game. He's gone now😜. 1 turf is nothing. Don't take it personally. ✌👍

I agree. I grow by 1k a month. With less than 2k you should be easily growing by 1k every 2 weeks. (That's how much I grew under 10k & I know another new player who is getting the same results.) You don't have to have the biggest mob to enjoy the game.dagamer01 wrote:

I am not lying. My mob hasn't increased much after punching so many codes.
Despite my mob size. The game mechanics need to chance. It was fine when the game was new. Now it's so over-populated that openness of the rules are a major deterant.

It's not all that populated at all levels. What you're proposing would make a very boring game for the upper level players. It's gps you don't have the luxury of attacking everyone like in some other games. That's why restrictions don't work. And btw you didn't punch even close to as many codes as you say. I get than that in some good days only punching new releasesI am not lying. My mob hasn't increased much after punching so many codes.

Unless he just keeps punching the exact same codes from the invite forum. Or not sorting properly on code sites and keeps repunching the same ones over and over.

I assure you I have punched the codes i said i did. I do admit that I have just recently started punched from the various code websites (since the past month) and I may not have filtered properly. But still I did punch the codes I said I did.

Then you are making one (or more) of the mistakes Kozy & I suggested. You are the only person I've ever heard of with that poor of a return.I assure you I have punched the codes i said i did. I feel like this game is made to grow by mob count and mob count only. The level of axplayer and the stats seem entirely cosmetic (I don't see them make much of a difference). I was looking at guides and most if not all suggest that putting stat points into attack and defense are utterly useless.

Stamina is more valuable than mob. It's all in how you look at it. If you read the FAQ thread you'd know not to put points into attack or defense. Mob, weapons & armor, turf, stamina, & health, as well as allies & alliances are important parts of the game. Yea. That's what I am say. I know not to put points in attack and def cuz they are pointless but I am sure the devs never intended those stats to be pointless.
I did ask some for help in asking for a vendetta against the guy that has been capping my turfs. Most of the high players came to the thread and just told me to move out of the area instead of helping me. Some low to low-mid size players came to my aid but that can't really help fight this guy back as he put mobs us all. I messaged thru feedback about the all this to see what they have to say and guess what, they suggested icstart a vendetta (the very thing that high veterans refuse to help me with)

Low to low midsole player should be fine if you do your math right. Most of the top players have their own constant battles going on.
