Possible way to equalize mob sizes
Forums › Suggestions & Feedback › Possible way to equalize mob sizes-
OK flame away but a few of you have to agree, our mob sizes are getting to the point where the game is going to become unsustainable. Think of a noob logging in and seeing 18-20k mob sizes and then some of our threads explaining 30-50% accept rates on good days. That is a lot of typing to know is ahead of you and the older the player the more inactives he/she/V has in their mobs. What would the viability be of a rolling dropoff for players. I know it will seem like a penalty to us older players but the benefit will be the equalization of mob sizes. If a player does not log in for 60-90 days (up to Nick on this but it is an example) they drop from everyone elses mobs. If they log in on day 91 they have a mob of 0 and the mobs they were attached to are all one player smaller. This allows the newer players to be able to theoretically catch up and isn't so discouraging to see these huge mobs. Smaller mobs means lower upkeep, lower upkeep means better profits on existing turf.

I think this has been suggested before. I feel it's a good idea.

I like mob/turf as an equalizer. To me this makes sense. If you are running a crew, the more ppl in your crew the more powerful, the more turf you have, however, the tougher it is to defend because some guys would be guarding a turf here and others there etc. This would just be for capturing. Strict mob is used for attacking people but I would capture with my total attack/#turf and defend with total defense/#turf.
It would make the game a lot different, but it could be cool. I like this idea less now than when I thought of it weeks ago, but it's still an idea.
-
This would also make it harder to cap a person with each turf you take. Implementation of this idea would also call for suspension of the "10% rule".
-
How about make mobbing up more efficient... I keep on adding the same ppl! And yes I looked at a website or two...
-
i think if they become active again (i.e. log in) they should be re added to everyones mob. That way nobody has to repunch those codes, but it still evens mob size
-
So....are you for it or against it Belial?

Lol. My sarcasm fell short. I was kidding man, you just had pointed out many reasons why you'd be against it, not to mention that you are always against this idea. I think we should get your opinion next week though. If someone posts an idea like this again, make sure to let us know how you feel, again.shin-soo choo wrote:

No offense B, but the suggestion was for the good of the game not really for the good of you. At some point us older players will get bored and Nick needs new blood coming in to keep it going. Logging in and seeing 20k mobs is not exactly something that is going to encourage people to stick around. Even you or I as players are replaceable to developers and their only goal should be to make the game grow with new players, not worry about keeping one or two players out of thousands content. As for the 30% overage for capping, that would be up to Nick to tweak as needed and maybe even add strategy to the game instead of basing cap numbers purely on "I have more mob than you". Might be appropriate to say it may actually make the better planners the victors instead of the better typists.

Couldn't love this idea more

No matter how you swing it its ultimately bad for the home viper. The current system rewards hard work. Your change would tale all that hard work away. It would take all the fun out of the game for not just us bit everyone. Plus it would rip players like you and me off for all that cash we put into turf limit that wouldn't be needed.
-
All this would do viper is make it so players who bought a lot of Hench would be invincible. Players like you and I with medium Hench #s would have no hope of competing with them.

I think we need to think of it from the vendetta point of view.
The V was originally intended to offset the larger players and give the small guys a chance to team up.
So maybe rather than trying to remove mob from larger players we can have say an alliance feature where u have a limit on the size of mob in an alliance.
So you couldn't have an alliance of 4 20k mobs.
I haven't really though about it much, but it makes sense to progress and upgrade the V system rather than removing mob from big players -
But something needs to be done. Cause I've punched all the codes and all I'm left with are temps, I'm trying to catch up to a few other players, but as long as they keep punching temps also, I'll never catch them.

I think the emphasis is on support for noobs, when I started I must admit all the big players policed the area and was friendly gave advice, and that helped, I felt overwhelmed...the game I think is pretty much there for balance, maybe a tweak as to mob decay, u can't limit the mob as such as is the driving force in 1 sense and social is in another, it makes ppl adapt and find allies with common ground

Everyone has someone to fight. And vets fade away. Mob the way you want. Look at your surroundings. And have some fun.

no, not at all........
but say we had an extension of the vendetta system, and you limited the # of players to 4.
and you and 3 other 20K mobs joined together, you would still be unbeatable, as you would have 80K.
so maybe put a limit on the size of alliance mob combination, so you could join up, but the mob size would be stop at 50K, the other 30K wouldn't counti actually completely agree with you about not "punishing" larger players for putting in the hard work and the time.
-
my issue, is I can punch 3000 codes in a day no prob....but i don't have 3000 codes to punch, so if i want t over take someone, and i have the time to put in.......it doens't matter, cause all they have to do is punch temps for 15 minutes a day, and they will stay ahead.
i literally have to wait for them to stop, and that gives me very little way of overtaking them..
i really enjoyed it when i was1500 mob, and i could site for a few hours and punch away and come back into the fight....

So you're proposing a permanent. Vendetta? I don't think that'd work out too well

just saying rather than thinking about the situation form the perspective of removing mod, we should be brainstorming the solution from the perspective of upgrading the vendetta system.although a permanent V(alliance feature) to say, would mean that you can't be hunted down after the V is up, and it wouldn't be targeted at a single person, rather a grouping of mob in general attack/defense
