Wanna join the military join the marines that's about it

Not everyone needs to rush the front lines to serve. Many who stay behind and protect the families are just as important. Public service is just as critical. Doctors, teachers, rights advocates, they are all heroes too. If you are willing to sacrifice time and energy to benefit others than yourself, thats heroic.

Army forward observer here, been there done that don't wanna go back. I get out in September, unless they change their mind about letting me stay in, was injured in Afghanistan and now limp around and have horid memories. My advice is if you don't think you can handle deployments, getting shot at and shooting back, seeing things you'll never forget then go navy or air force. It's an experience I don't regret having because I know we made a difference in the life of the people we helped, but idk if it was worth the cost of life and quality of the lives of the guys who came back.

I really wish we were still in the 1942 era type ships guns AA emplacements landing crafts and wildcat dog fights I hate modern day state of the art technology sorta like battlefield 1943

I would not. It doesn't seem worth it to me. I wouldn't want to have my life on the line for a war that has no meaning. That was just started for oil.

I would serve 2years in the marines and then sign up for the juggernaut program
After I finish school

I'm 13 and know that fine and clearly. Most WWII vets are proud but that doesn't mean nightmares don't haunt them 50 years later. I would like to join the military but don't want a war like WWII that dragged the world into chaos just look at the death and aftermathI know war isn't pretty at one stinking bit its bad really bad but it's was different then when we actually had objectives in war not like today's late war so called terrorists attacked us in 01 but in 41an army attacked us I want real war

At the moment I am completely furious. War is not meant to be taken lightly. People DIE, OK?! DIE! As in they will never be there for their loved ones again. You want war, Don Jr., then go out there when your old enough. I bet you won't even survive boot camp. And if you do, come back after a few months in deployment and tell us if you still want war.

Yeah absolutely true. My brother who was drafted, his friend is a tank commander. So they were goin along in afghan, when a grenade comes. The gunner boldly said I'll try my best because they couldn't get him in. And that's how he took out 5 men in his last seconds. The friend and his Devon in command are still in afghan and that was one of their best friendsAt the moment I am completely furious. War is not meant to be taken lightly. People DIE, OK?! DIE! I personally would never join the army because it seems like a last resort kinda thing to do. I would seriously consider joining the coast guard or something along the lines. The coast guard is more appealing to me because of the humanitarian missions they run and you are defending your country directly.
