Battery Drain!

Is there a way to shut off or at least minimize GPS use. Doesn't seem necessary for it to be on all the time especially when I'm just mashing codes or relying on nearby turfs. Only seems useful for building new turfs in your location. This game seems to be such a battery drain for something that isn't graphic intensive. Or at least have a way that it'll be more useful. Maybe broaden your capture radius based on your location. Seems excessive for it to always be on.

I think it must be on to activate the game. Being connected to your wifi draws much more power from your battery. I wouldn't worry about it. I punch while connected to the USB.

Using a wifi connection saves up to 60% battery life compared to using 3G service.

I didn't compare 3G and wifi. I compared gps signal and wifi.

How do you use task manager? I have an Iphone4.

I think he meant the application switcher at the bottom when you double click the home button. It shouldn't really affect the battery lIfe that much when you close that out though since the game doesn't seem to call any processes to background like (locationd) when "minimized". Rather, it seems like its left in a save state mode.

It does seem to effect mine... But that's what I meant

Can you not just turn off your location finder in settings. Mine didn't work for ages but I could still mission and invite.

If you are on a wifi connection your location is not determined by your gps signal. It's your ip address. That's how deactivated phones can still use the app. Those are some great suggestions above. Try them. I'm going to!

What's a gps signal?? You get your location from 3G or wifi!
