Who has seen it and what do you think of it?
-
Many have seen it.
Personally I break out the big foam number 1 hand, the double beer hard hat, and yell "HELL YEAH!!!! Wooooo! You tell it Bill!!!!"
-
I love how he puts everything into perspective. I noticed that anytime someone couldn't explain certain things in their religion they resorted to anger. He never really put down someone's religion just debated why he believes what he does. Example, in the truckers church, he still let them pray for him and never interrupted and was very polite. Great movie!!!

He was very polite because he was on camera and it helped him look like a food person. There have many other examples of him bashing and ridiculing people for their beliefs. To each his own but he certainly can be hateful to anyone who believes.

I have seen these too and personally agree with him. I am not a religious person but I accept everyone's beliefs. The other cases have been for the sake of comedy. Comedians bash everyone. It just happens to be his main focus is religions. Personally I group religious gods in the same category as Santa and the Easter Bunny. Believable until your mature enough to see the truth. He was very polite because he was on camera and it helped him look like a food person. I'm not debating if religion is true or not. It's called faith for a reason. If it was able to be proven then there would be no need for faith.
I am addressing his timed and measured response during the doc. On his show and in articles where he is not using comedy as part of his routine he is extremely demeaning and hateful to anyone who has a belief in a higher power.
He has a true hatred for religion and isn't tolerable to its followers and uses his position to denigrate them. All the while declaring that Christians are not tolerant.
I'm not directing any if my comments toward you. I don't know your beliefs or opinions. I wanted to be clear that my opinion is of Maher.

Understandable, And I have to agree with some of what you said. Although, on his behalf (again) I have been pushed to The point where I slander religion at times. It's when religious people try to push their god on me that I fight back. He just doesn't have the tolerance level of most people and voices his opinion nationally.

Love when he's in the mobile church and the pastor starts freaking out , frikin priceless !! All because he asked questions.

When religion is used to justify hate it should be attacked. And when religion puts forth ridiculous concepts it should be ridiculed.

I have no clue what you guys are talking about so Ima leave this thread now bye bye

Fantastic point! I think the best part is when he is at the theme park and speaking with the Jesus actor. It was a very good conversation and I like the fact that Bill respected and appreciated the guys analogy of the father, son and the holy ghost is like water, ice and mist. To me that was a fantastic discussion. I like Bill, I like his take on things. At times he can come off as arrogant but what comedian/talk show host doesn't?When religion is used to justify hate it should be attacked. And when religion puts forth ridiculous concepts it should be ridiculed.

I think he's an ass, and have no intent on watching that movie.
