Immortality
Forums › General Discussion › Immortality-
Whats your opinion on it. Would you take it, leave it, or scoff at the idea. The ever long life can be ended and you won't become a frail old person. What would you do with this new never ending life as well? What's all your opinions on this?
-
I would take it as long as i can end me life when i choose. I dont think living forever would be very fun. Not on earth
-
I would take in any life I wanted, maybe change te idenity a few times, pull off a crime spree worthy of death penalty, escape from prison, start riots.
-
But that's the best part and that is your not confined to earth you will be able to travel the stars influencing new species and actually accomplishing something in the universe.
-
Hmm if I had eternity to live I'd take it. I could over time learn how to shape the world to my liking. Amass wealth over time, control politics with it etc.
-
Immortality? I wouldn't take it. One lifetime of heartbreak is enough for me.
-
Talis that's one thing I would do I would love to influence the course of mankind and see its rise and eventual fall. Who wouldn't want to do this.
-
Nothing to do...

I would take it if I could die, but I can't be killed.

I'd leave it. Honestly, would you really want to look in the mirror only to look exactly the same for year year after year? Would you want to watch your loved ones grow old and die off while you still look the same. Maybe trying to make new loved ones, but they will eventually pass away too. You would live eternally alone, and you would eventually make the desision to seclude yourself from the world, never wanting to meet someone new and experience the pain and sadness all over again like you had when you mom died, your dad died, siblings, friends, lovers. It's a harsh life being immortal, always eventually becomeing alone until you work up the nerve to meet new people, only to go back to square 1 as they grow old and die, leaving you behind to suffer more pain.
-
I would defiantly want to have that. I understand the harsh reality of it, but I think the pros outweigh the cons
-
Well its possinle, we have made fake organs that can replace old ones but its still in testing, its only the brain we will have truble with, and your probably gonna have to pay for that stuff
-
Possible*

What would you do if/when there's total extinction on the planet? damn that would get boring! 😳👍

Well I'm Voldemort!! I love being immortal!!
-
If I was I'd do as much good as I can. You hav the ability to do outlast any difficulties in solving it.
-
Immortality would get progresivly harder but to go back 2k years too so you could see the world unfold to its current state would help... Ie be immortal but have lived in the past
-
I'd jump at it, main problem I can see is government bureaucracy. Unless you'd plan to be the famous immortal person, after 80 or so years (given we arnt babies today) it would start being obvious you wernt dead. And getting new identities would be fiddly and of course illegal. You could easily end up as a homeless immortal trapped in one country (if you have no identity, no passport, no good job, no bank account etc)
I would still go for immortality, but I'd start off setting up the building blocks for my next identity whilst my original identity was still good. I'm thinking borrowing a baby to register as my 'child', which then 'grows up' in a different country, returning when the identity was old enough for me to assume. Then I would 'disappear ' and be legally declared dead in a few years time. In the meantime living in the new name and identity :)
I'd stay low key and enjoy the accumulating wealth and power, unencumbered by the visibility of fame -
WTF I wanna DIE not live forever
unless I can create chaos upon this world (which is kinda gonna be hard concidering this world has practicly gone to shit) then I won't take it but if I can create fear in everyone and become the ultimate ruler then I will hahahaha -

My boner is immortal.
-
I'd want to stay in my 20s for a while but I'd probably still off myself after a healthy 80-100 years. Especially if I'm still doing this bullshit.
