Lots if dead American and Iranian troops, untold dead Iranian civillians, a country's infrastructure destroyed and another reason for the fundamentalists to hate America.
On the plus side I think the arms manufactures will have another great year, bonuses all round at Christmas and BAE systems shares rocketing, so, not all bad I suppose.......

There's a lot of ignorance in this country about the middle east, especially Iran. Iran is a repressive oligarchy that murders it's own people and quashes any attempts at free speech. A majority of it's people want to overturn the govt and have a real democracy. So how does it make sense to wage war and kill their civilians? The US needs to help it's people to overturn the govt, just as it helped the Shah take power 60 years ago. That will bring peace and stability to the middle east.

Personally I see something happening by the end of February tops. This could either be a quick and clean or long and bloody. It depends on the action the US takes. If it bombs them until they surrender then it will be quick. On the other hand if they invade and launch a ground war then it will be Lon and bloody. They have a large enough army to do some damage and we would be unable to do scorche earth and other effective strategies due to civilians. The US must do what must be done and hopefully they pick the right method for this. Let us hope Russia or China do not get involved either.
