Sad day today
Forums › General Discussion › Sad day today-
Just wanted to let the community know because I know how you all have responded in the past, but I lost one of my brothers early this morning. Not sure why yet, autopsy still being done, mom found him on the kitchen floor on her way to work. 18 years old, had finished his first semester at ok state, was headed back for second in a couple days. I had 5 younger brothers, now I have 4 that are alive. He was a Christian, but that's minimally comforting right now, 12 hours after he was found. Any advice or stories on how you moved on after a similar loss would be helpful.

Well said, Saba. So sorry for your loss Ryan. I wish you and your family strength in dealing with this...

I am so so sorry man. Saba said it best I can't imagine the feelings you are having right now. I have no clue why this happened to him at such a young age, but he is in a better place now anyways. Be sure to keep us posted on what the cause of his death was. I'll be praying for you and your family.

BR,
I have some understanding where you are this moment, having lived through a similar experience. Now is not a time for answers; they will come. Now is the time for love and family. You are loved. Do not be afraid to show it, share it and enjoy it. My family's thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

I lost my friend Wesley that I had known for 12 years, 2 days ago to a drunk driver after his football practice. Wesley, Charles, and my other best friend Mike were badly injured by the truck. Sadly Wesley passed away at 11:43pm after giving into his injuries. Prayers to you and hope you get better.🌹Just wanted to let the community know because I know how you all have responded in the past, but I lost one of my brothers early this morning. How to move through this kind of loss is just one step at a time. There is no easy way. I'm sorry.
Your family, as Christians, i hope can pull together and at some point seek great comfort and guidance through your faith. Let that guide your way through this terrible darkness.
Much love to you Ryan.

I'm so sorry. I know how it is to lose a person close to yu. With in he past year I have Los three people. I know they are in a Bette place and I am so glad for that. Just hang in here man. Keep strong and pray

I can't say I know your pain. The only time I lost a family member was when I was very young, and they were fairly distant. Just know that we're all here for you, on turf wars. Time is the world's best healer, and eventually I'm sure you will be able to move onward. Remember him. Good memories, ones that made you smile, try not to think about loosing him, but about how great it was to have him. That is all I can give you, along with my best wishes for you and the rest of your family in the time to come. You still have each other, help each other through this tough time.
-
my deepest sympathies. my family experienced the loss of a sybling. apparently nothing makes it feel better other than time. where it still hurts, only stings less. you're fortunate to have other brothers to love and support.
really, nobody knows if Christianity means anything to the dead. but having that sort of community available means a lot to the living. if you and your family feel supported through the church, embrace it.

Praying for you and your family.

Live everyday as he would have wanted. Be the best big brother ever and comfort the younger brothers. Take everyday in your stride. remember the good times, forget the bad.
And maybe do something in remembrance of him, on my dads death anniversary i have a pint in his favourite pub 🍺 -
OTB and Tek said it well. My sincere sympathy to your family. I hope you can find strength in each other.
-
I'll be praying for you and him. You will one day be reunited with him at the gates of heaven.
-
I pray for you. I've lost my 21 yr old sister. My suggestions are to talk about him, mostly with family and friends and the healing will take years. But, remember to do special things in his honor. Things that will help you remind yourself of him. Family and good friends help the most! Good luck!🙏🙏
-
I'm terribly sorry for your loss. My thoughts will be with you and your family during this difficult time. Keep your chin up.

Thank you all for your kind words. Today we get to start figuring out the practical stuff, like cleaning out his dorm and unenrolling him from classes. I think this is harder.

I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
