Active Duty Military

Medical discharge from the army in 06 after an injury in Iraq. Many have asked me if I would so it again if I had the chance. The answer is always yes. Serving my country for the 3 years I was in is one of the proudest things in my life; second only to the days my kids were born.
Stand tall and listen closely to those around you. Remember, while you may be an officer and technically out rank them, they've been there longer than you and there is a reason why they do things a certain way. Don't try to be the one who has to prove he is in charge. Look for ways to improve things but dot change things simply for the sake of change.
And welcome to the fraternity. Army is Army. Navy is Navy. Air force is Air Force. Marines are the Marines. The Coast Guard is the Coast Guard (though technically they are part of DHS now). But we are ALL US Military.

I'm not military, but I respect all that you guys do!! The reasons why we fight now might be tough to explain, but don't forget you have an entire country rooting you on infinitely more times than any sports team.

Thank you everyone for all the advise. Really. Got three more semesters then will hit the ground running at OCS. Can't wait.
