chores for boys?

Anyone else's parents make them clean the house (washing dishes, vacum, laundry)?
-
I make my oldest boy do those type of chores.
-
wow sucks for him! i hate chores! worst torture ever!
-
Discipline is good and goes a far way in life
-
I agree that it goes a far way in life! but its only good for the parents not for the child. If any kid agrees with me then post!
-
Children need to learn to work hard because in the real world you work hard or you lose your job. I love working with guys that suckled at their moms teet until they were 18 and then they get a job and cry about having to work.

He earns his allowance. He is a good kid. He respects a dollar and doesn't suffer from what I see alot of kids these days and that is entitlement for doing nothing.
-
But i do understand y we have chores and thats 1. the parents pay everything for the kids 2. they work their butts off each day and 3.its punishment if we do something bad
-
All my kids have chores boys and girls and do their own laundry from the age of 5, wash dry m pur away.... So far working well... Ages 21-5
-
When yoou learn to do them on your own without being told and without blaming your parents, then you will be an adult. Now go clean your room!
-
haha lol yes sir! im cleaning rite now anyway but my rooms being remodeled so i cant?
-
Toilets every three days, we own an apartment complex and I have to clean them all.. 5 toilets
-
My mom made me start doing my own laundry when I was 10. I never got an allowance I had to wash the car for $5 or clean the pool for $15 (my mom was/is a cheapskate). I also had to do dishes if I wanted something to eat off of, or she wouldn't cook.
-
It varies with some things because they help with whatever projects we are doing but they clean up their toys, etc. each day, help with laundry (they're learning 😂), etc. There are a lot of times I basically have to redo the job, but oh well...

My kids have to load the wood furnace, that means making a mountain of firewood every year. I still do most of the chainsaw work but they do all the hauling and stacking. Bet my daughter could kick your don's ass. :)
-
Oooo.that was funnier when I tried to say "your SON'S ass."
-
I do all my chores...but I have my own flat and I'm single...
-
Hmmm... Let's see. I am definently under 16, yet I really don't mind chores. I accept them. They're a part of life. They build character. They make sure that you don't grow up into a homeless bum because you can't keep a job because you don't get your work done. I'm assuming you're a guy. You're never goin to get a girlfriend if you're too lazy to doo stuff for her. Surely watching her little sibling for her or something is much worse than loading a dishwasher. Speaking of which, ours is broken. Chew that over.

Oh kovalsky's a good kid, does his chores, just likes to complain about them. He's 13 afterall.

For some reason I read the title of this thread as if it was a sequel to "Words with Friends"
-
My 4 year old likes to vacuum. It's awesome. 😄

It's all about discipline and respect. Chores help in this regard. A child with manners go a long long way

Yes 👏👏👏
I'm 17, and mow the lawn, do dishes, laundry (when I turned 16 my mom refused to wash my clothes anymore). No complaints.

1.) would you rather have your parents make you pay rent?
2.) wanna buy your own food?
3.) that huge electric bill? 50% of its from your Xbox. Wanna pay that too? -
haha lol yeah i know ill become a homeless bum if i dnt do my chores nd become lazy and lose my job that ill suprisingly get. BUT luckly my dad makes me and also my mom. so that wont be happening. And im in IB (kinda like magnet in middle school) and im also aiming for magnet in highschool. im tryin to become an engineer or a computer engineer.
-
^ Ok, but remember, you're going to have to learn to do it on your own. When you get a job, your boss won't force you to do the work. They'll fire you. I'm happy to see you at least have a goal, even though I have no clue what IB or magnet is.

its kinda like the smart class or more advanced class

Ive seen alot of smart guys fail spectacularly because of a lack of initiative, work ethic, or out of sheer laziness. Sounds like you have the intellegence side down, hopefully you can get the work ethic side down as well. Being in an IB programs doesnt count for anything if you can complete tasks on your own.its kinda like the smart class or more advanced class
