Facebook cleaning?

The Facebook app icon says its 'cleaning' I'm a little confused?

Mine did it after i tryed to update it. I reckon its to do with the fact it stores all ur msgs and it needs to make sum room for new ones. So every couple of hundred msgs the app needs more memory as it isnt allicated as much as it needs. I hope that helped
