...a stupid question, but maybe somebody can explain. I hit this guy 3 times in a row winning over 20k each time, 4th time he wins taking 20k of me. It's not a first time I observed this phenomenon, is it possible this other person bought so many weapons during attack to completly change outcome?

Nope. Chalk it up to the randomness of the attack/defend equation. I just attacked someone 250 mob below me and lost on the last attack as well. I guess he got off a lucky shot! Lol
