Anyone else bothered by the SOPA bill?
Forums › General Discussion › Anyone else bothered by the SOPA bill?-
The originally proposed bill would allow the U.S. Department of Justice, as well as copyright holders, to seek court orders against websites accused of enabling or facilitating copyright infringement. Depending on who requests the court orders, the actions could include barring online advertising networks and payment facilitators such as PayPal from doing business with the allegedly infringing website, barring search engines from linking to such sites, and requiring Internet service providers to block access to such sites. The bill would make unauthorized streaming of copyrighted content a crime, with a maximum penalty of five years in prison for 10 pieces of music or movies within six months. The bill also gives immunity to Internet services that voluntarily take action against websites dedicated to infringement, while making liable for damages any copyright holder who knowingly misrepresents that a website is dedicated to infringement.

Time to learn the trades within the black market. No amount of bills will ever stop supply and demand. If the gov try too hard they will be in over their heads 😏 but back to civil legal reasoning yes this is very sad 😢 we mine as well become like china. Where is our so called democracy?

I'll just say that the government isn't going to be happy until it controls every aspect of our lives by pissing on the bill of rights and the us constitution at least here in the states. Before long we will be told what we can eat or whatever and he'll it wouldnt surprise me if they charged us a oxygen tax for breathing

Hey it will just be another reason for us to do what once happened to England. Breaking ties, maybe. Let's see how far they push us until the American people retaliates

Under international law Interpol is the only agency that can enfource criminal laws to Canadian citizen operating out side Canadian domain. This has only been used a few times. Finland is the main country that has used it. They used it to stop illegal porn, copy right is not on the top of the international crime list.ⱣλБŁΩ🔫🌊🗻 wrote:

The us can do what ever they want to with their domains and severs but once out side there control it's a free for all. Besides no one keeps just one server these days even private companies are buying spots on different servers to protect there data from these dumb Internet laws. -

Right, but this will allow them to sanction host sites and engines that may violate US copyrites, regardless of the domains country of origin.
