No they are not at least now they are not I like both but if I had to go with one it would be gta since it came first. But the saints row series is going a different direction than gta it's going in the I'm going to have fun with myself, so I'm going to be as wacky as fuck possible while gta is going to a more serious realistic route

At the moment, Saints Row the Third.
However if GTA 5 is good, I'll change my mind.
Even so, the best GTA so far is San Andreas.
Also ST:TT is the last of the Saints era. Whereas GTA continues for longer and more of em.

I'm a GTA guy (though disappointed at the lack of free roam fun GTA4 offered) I've seen videos of Saints Row the Third and I have to admit it looks like its made to mess around and just cause chaos (equals fun). But just like what Don Davido said, it really depends which GTA. But I'll still say GTA San Andreas would be my favorite though 👍👍

GTA simply because of the more realistic feel. If you "run over" somebody in Saints Row, they skyrocket 20 feet into the air whereas in GTA a collision with a pedestrian would throw them forward and under your car.
