Best diet for weight loss?
Forums › General Discussion › Best diet for weight loss?-
I'm an ex physical trainer, so take this for what it's worth. Most diets are fad diets and may be ok for dropping some pounds quickly, but to lose weight healthily for the long term, he'll need to change his lifestyle. This means eating lean meats (ie. chicken and turkey breast, lean cuts of pork, and fish) and plenty of vegetables. He should eat 5-6 small meals a day rather than 3 large ones. This is key as your body can only process so much at once, and excess gets turned to fat. Eating multiple small meals allows your body to process and absorb more nutrients. Also, walking is a good start. Swimming is even better.

Weight watchers really does work. Ive known many people who have been extremely successful from it. Also cutting out meat and dairy from a died could eventually reverse the condition. Check out the movie forks over knifes.

Ive never done it myself, but i have alot of friends that do the Paleo diet...they seem to like it, but then again they also are huge crossfitters and waste an enormous amount of money on paleo friendly foods... Best way, find an exercise you enjoy and do it, thats what worked for me. That and common sense eating with a little discipline goes a long way.

I lost 20kg with the help of "MyFitnessPal" with the iPod app. But it's all about calories in vs calories out. Cut the beer and chocolates and try salads with no meat. Not much fun but I can tell you that cheese tastes fantastic if you've not eaten any for a week or two.

👍 the key is lots of exercise to burn off the calories you eat, without exercise the body stores the calories as fat, think of food as fuel for the body to use, smaller and more often to keep the metabolism up, and lots of exerciseEat less exercise more
It's really not that complicated. Most modern "diets" are invented to sell books

"Fathead" on Hulu/Netflix streaming is a good watch.
It's funny, and you may find some helpful info in there.
Also helpful to read what the opponents say.

Distilled alcoholic beverages have zero carbohydrate, and the calories in alcohol are processed immediately. Stop eating, stay drunk... Your golden window to weight loss.

Get the app " my net diary". It helps alot to keep track of what you're eating if you want to lose weight. This app also gives some advice to help coach you. ***** The other advice is Never Skip Breakfast, eat 200-300 calories every 2-3 hours drink plenty of water and Never Let Yourself Get Hungry. As for excersize, open the front door and walk in for 15 minutes in one direction then turn around and go home. It isn't difficult, but it does take dedication. ••••••••• Last but not least, most overweight people are already experts at losing weight. We need to learn how to keep it off.

I lost 50 lbs this summer of 2011. All I did was I quit drinking cokes and drank water only. I stopped eating fatty foods and ate grilled things mainly fish and chicken. Sometimes I would eat Subway. And for excercise I would do push ups and sit ups every other day. Sometimes every day but that was rare

Drink 2 glasses of water before your meal....if you can't stay on a diet/exercise program, at least try and fool your body into thinking it is full...I can't profit off gluttons if they are dead...that's what you will end up like if you are that much weighed down...get to work! And support your local Chefs 🍸Cheers🍸

Replace soda with water.
Eat several small meals instead of 3 or 4 big meals. -

The Chef and jay k both offered good advice. Ephedra is horrible for you. But drinking water before meals does help. It fills you up and increases your metabolism, which obviously burns more calories. Drinking tons of water is actually essential to losing weight healthily (and gaining muscle for you lifters).
There really is NO substitute for eating right and exercising, though. If he or your mom cooks, get them a good cookbook with healthy meals. Eating healthy doesn't mean tofu and woodchips, but it does mean a lot of work and planning. Good luck, bruh.
