I read on a source that the Putin and Medvedev cheated their way into the parliament election(the votes didn't add up, apparently 140% of all people voted). The Russian govt is closing off media and travel into or out of Russia, to hide the protests.

Can anyone else confirm this?

I really don't understand where Russia's odd brand of ruthless oligarchical capitalism is headed. Will they return to totalitarianism? Will the people rise up? Stay tuned...

He's right.
The KGB was created because of people and the potential they might rise up. Ask anyone whose left Russia if they feel safe...remember, Putin was a officer in the KGB, he's no saint. KGB still will hunt down a person deemed a problem.

Well Russia isn't as strong as it used to be. It is still strong but how strong exactly I am not sure since I never looked that up. However they could do sone serious damage if they wanted to but they would face some strong enemies. The top 2 countries in power with us at #1 and China at #2. though the US is getting a bit weaker with the economy. China's economy is getting stronger.

Well Russia isn't as strong as it used to be. It is still strong but how strong exactly I am not sure since I never looked that up. However they could do sone serious damage if they wanted to but they would face some strong enemies. A destabilised Russia would be the icing on the economic cake of shit we're all being asked to swallow.
