The election thread turned into a debate on the merits of the UKs involvement wih the EU. So, should the UK be closer to EU, or do Brussels have to much power already? You decide!!

Closer. I like the EU becauseThe EU bankrolled democracy and civil society in the post soviet states. Plus it has sucseeded in avoiding another European war. At the same time CAP and corruption need to be challenged.

aha, look at what's going on in Greece. Single currency is never going to work, as economy and financial output of all of those countries vary drasticly

No that was just the way the punt was exchanged with the euro. There were apparent price rises caused by changing to euro, but these affected nobody. Prices were rising at the time anyway though due to the boom

I wouldn't know. I always hear people complaining about the price of alcohol in pubs though

Unfortunately we need the EU.

However I think we should still tell the EU to go fuck it's self an get their grubby mitts off our pound.

not sure I don't tend to drink from pubs I always find they water my pint down
