And did you know that every 6 months I think, for no reason the whole of the EU pack up and switch between one of there HQs, that sounds like a great use of our money. -

NATO - a broken body which is to be honest is pretty ineffective but better than any thought of a EU army.
There is no plan from EU to break up nation states - this is just hot air but the political development of EU has to be stopped.
We need to be in Europe for trade, international development, cross border co-operation e.g. crime but not for financial matters - the conduct of Germany over Greece currency crisis + French attempts to control hedge funds prove this point.
Want the Tories to win - may start some effective use of all the additional money put into public services and will have the willpower to challenge public service unions - for example public pensions need dramatic overhual. -

My question is: what was wrong with the European Trade Union that it started out as? This was perfect and could have solved a lot of these problems. And swinny how do you know there's no plan?

The trade block was good and some of the developments since have been good things - the one good thing about Lisbon Treaty is the ability of Europe to negotiate one body - this makes Europe as big as China, India, US. But could be used in bad ways as well.
The idea of US Europe has been around since Maastricht treaty and would need a treaty - which is never going to happen - not even the Liberal Democrats would vote for this. -
Well there are always people at the top like Tony Blair willing to do anything for more power, anyway I'm off to bed for the night.

To be honest, it's a bit of pick the best from a bad bunch, this time round. As for old Gordo, I care more about his ability, than how he looks. Yes, he's a one eyed scruffy Scotsman, who is crap at delivering a speach. But, when I heard a group of economists saying how much Gordo knows about fiscal affairs, I thought, great stuff. Good steady hand to sort the defecit out.
