Its things like these why people still suppory hitler.
I in no way support what he did or the rule he ran!
But he starte his whole better race when he was 17! He served his country and then started protestig and eventually he took over the government he protested against. Look what happened in england with riots not so long ago...that was pathetic -

Admit it, damn you! You have evolved your opinions drastically since the protests began!

I support the republic for which America was founded. F the 99% who aren't doing anything productive. F the bankers controlling all the paper people are diluted enough to care about. F the politicians who are selling out all of humanity for petty reasons. F corporations who would rather be blind to what is important than help humanity progress. F capitalist ideals for enslaving people for millennia.
Long live the ideals of the American Republic, and the positive social aspects we the people have managed to implement under this democratic tyranny. Screw democracy.
I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United State of America, and to the !REPUBLIC! for which is stands.
Since when did we forget we aren't property of capitalism, and democracy? How the hell did so many people just become okay with disregarding our REPUBLIC? I know people are gonna find faults with this... And there are faults. But why is a democracy with capitalistic ideals a better way, than a true republic?

Than*. Why are we the people allowing career politicians to continue their ways? Politics should not be career. People should run for offices with motives of change for the better. Not for the pay check. This is why nothing works. The "greatest" country on earth, with only two presidential candidates. Its an obvious trick. We have two options realistically. Two! Why do we keep going along with this?

This occupy thing doesn't make any sense. No one is actually mad about the core issues. Bankers have money I think I deserve, is not a protest message to respect.
Fire ALL the politicians. ALL of them. Limit Champaign spending. Let's ALL parties enter debates. Stop hoping republicans and democrats will do what's best for you. Society is not black and white. Social issues, technological advances, education, health care, having a goal for our human race we can all get behind. Resolving these fruitless, and baseless differences. What the hell are we as a human race working for? We all think about space, and flying off in the cosmos someday. Colonizing planets, and moving forward. Newsflash! We are a god damn type 0 civilization. There's no reason we can't be a type 1 in the next lifetime. Besides the fact people are not fricking getting mad, and changing the fundamental issues. -
And frankly I am getting pissed off that I'm surrounded by people who would rather argue about which God is cooler, and which country is more powerful, or who can control the most of this stupid rock. I want to fly around space!!!! Stop getting distracted!!!! Haha. I have no idea where this rant came from...

So don't do it anywhere you can be seen basically. Kind of defeats the purpose. You basically said I'm all for peaceful protest but I'm not all for peaceful protest. Make a decision!!If it really is a "99%" or whatever, then why aren't 99% of all people protesting? I'm all for peaceful protesting, whether or not I support the cause, but keep it away from my house, parks, roads, and anywhere else that it may cause disruption. Blocking roads doesn't equal peaceful protest. Destroying places doesn't equal peaceful protest. Being loud near residential areas doesn't equal peaceful protest. The way that this group is behaving makes it hard for me to see anything legit about them. If you are gonna preach about things that seem wrong to you, then maybe you shouldn't do things that seem wrong to everyone with a brain.
They are doing it wrong. Either do it 100% right or 100% violently, but don't all.
That is all.

Hey, I agree. You know what I think? People don't really change. Progressives think they do, overnight even.
But I think our fragile democratic republic system is as viable as it was 2000 years ago.
History is relevant. Schools should be teaching more 17th century European philosophy, as it relates to the foundational structure of our government and society.
People need to know why pure democracy is a bad idea, and why oppressive government is also a bad idea.
People are free to enter into binding contracts with one another and own property without government interference.
It's getting away from these basic principals that has hurt us the most.
And the answer from the "know-it-all college hippies" is:
More regulation on evil corporations!
Less regulation on me!I think they toss history aside like it doesn't apply. All this has happened before. And as the saying goes: we are doomed to repeat it.
-
You know... I dont know where all that stuff I just posted came from... But suddenly I feel fricken ashamed to be part of this. How are we ever going to get humanity on track? Peaceful protest is just a joke to the powers that be. Taking action with violence will only lead to them beating us down, and condeming us for trying. The only way to not lose, is to not play. But we can't even do that anymore. There isn't a place on earth without a person controlling it. Anyone? Any thought? Any one get what I'm saying?
-
I agree with you Brown note. Republic has failed countless times. It tends to fail much faster though hen good men don't speak up, or take action over obvious injustice, wouldn't you agree? I have a certain olive leave crown wearing, power hungry leader in mind. I'm thinking about him specificly because it seems have a similarity to what martial law would cause if implemented.

And, jeez, of only schools would put the needed time in for philosophy that they put into football. The reality is we have to take it upon ourselves to educate our children.

Also sorry if I'm coming off hippy. I very rarely affiliate with hippies, consider their ideals that aren't thought through, nor do I ever smoke pot. I'm very not touchy feelie, or a champion of the notion we are all brothers and sisters.
I'm just thinking. I get lost in my thoughts always.

Exactly addi! Why is competition imbedded in children from childhood? Why is that a more important aspect to encourage, than say, critical thinking, promoting creativity, and being innovative? How insane is it that those values are discouraged?!?

There must be reset button around here somewhere...
10,000 years from now, somebody will find a USB drive in an archeological dig, decipher the PDF code, take a look at the resulting scan of a hooters calendar, and predict the end of civilization to be December 31, 12012.
Meanwhile, protesters will be in the streets saying the 1% have fucked it all up for the 99%.
