So, I've been looking for a job for a few months. I just turned 18, so I could go to better places now. I found one store and met the manager and the assistant one same day. I called and visited frequently and got called in for interview one. Then later I was told I would be called for my second one after Black Friday sometime and that I'm on the list. I was so happy and close finally. I just got a call saying that two other people are getting called for interviews and "if it doesn't work out with them I will get a call". I funneled too much hope into this place 😪

So I guess, anyone have tips for getting a job while in college still?

I've just changed jobs so have some experience at this, and it does suck not being picked for a job. I was offered three jobs at the same time last week and the reason for so many offers was enthusiasm. It goes far further than people think - another thing to do at the end of an interview is to actually tell them how much you want the job and how hard you are willing to work. I was picked over someone with 10 years experience for a final interview because of exactly this, and I have only one years experience in this industry. Skills can be taught, keenness and enthusiasm usually can't be and employers value it over almost anything else. Feel free to pm me if you want to chat more.
