Attack defence stats!

What is the point of the defence and attack stats when you lvl up? I spent over 50 points on mine, just to find out they are useless now... I would rather have another 50 energy or 25 stamina instead of saving 50k on some grenades. Can you give us older players the option to remove these points and put them somewhere useful? And remove them from the game for new players. Or at least make them do more
