Avenged sevenfold actually used to be known as hardcore. They were on the same label as my old band Side Effect. There were quite a few other well known acts at the time that were on that label. One of them was actually the band that played at "Cams" party from the movie American History X.

For real hardcore look up The Dead Kennedys and Black Flag.

You just named half of my favorite bands when I was in high school. I miss Curl up and Die. That band was amazing and Converge somehow seems to amaze me with every new album they put out.
