I've added a new chat system. At the moment, you can only chat with people in your friends list or not-logged in users. I'm working to change that.

The interface appears as a bar at the bottom of the page. Various widgets are there to play with. Temporary public or private rooms can be created. Permanent rooms available on request.

The bar works with mobile devices, with various levels of difficulty. A simplified mobile version can be used at http://turfwarswiki.com/cometchat

Chat rooms do not function yet in the mobile device friendly version.

There are games, and google talk/Facebook chat integration.

Damn, that was fast! All online users and guests now show up in the list.

The guys on the boats do the actual fish counting. I merely aggregate the reports. More specifically, the application development teams script the aggregation, and I simply stand up the infrastructure and make sure it hums along smoothly.
So from my perspective, they kinda do count themselves.
