Though I respect the views of the speakers(to stop giving free bailouts to banks) many of the protestors are incredibly ignorant. I was reading a Occupy Wall STreet online newsletter. I began to read the comments. There was this idiot below who was thinking of hanging, torturing, and otherwise abusing the "rich dudes". Some people think that they can get along without all the huge corporations and businesses. Whose going to be your lawyer in court? Whose going to organize food distribution? WHose going to organize the buildings and roads?
Your shoes were made by a company. Your clothes were. Your house was made by a company. Your iTouch/iPad/iPhone was made by a company. Your computer was made by the company. EVERY SINGLE WEBSITE in the world is hosted by a server. And guess what? Those are organized and kept up by companies.

Lol.. Remember all the big bonuses employees were getting... Why we were bailing them out?😓
-
Greed has both served human kind well and condemned it

I think the occupy movement is excellent as long as it is peaceful. If it turns violent then it is not too good.
-
There is gonna be no more middle class soon. Just rich and poor.
-
Violence is no way to get a point across

It seems to be pointless to advocate socialism when theses individuals protest against big government.
Wall street isn't the problem. The federal reserve is. So it's strange how far these guys are going just to shoot themselves in the foot...

Yes there has already been a lot of violence, but here in Portland on Saturday night at midnight the police are going to evict the protestors from the parks and people are worried there will be a lot of violence even though it has been peaceful so far.Bayern Munich wrote:

Check out The YouTube video of Peter Schiff at the OWS protests. I'll spare my political sense and simply say "Google Ron Paul!"

Everyone who screams and shouts about the banks just shows their ignorance and probably jealousy . It isn't a club where if u get in u get given large bonuses for being a nice guy . You have to generate the profits yourself and you get a slice of what u make , about 10 pct . How is that unreasonable ?? Shareholders get the increased value too which includes old mrs jones and her pension . This has been going on for 30 years . The reason we are in such a state is the consumers greed. Everyone wants everything whether they can support it or not . The world runs on credit and this mess started because people who had no hope whatsoever of paying back their loans borrowed to the hilt . All this money the banks have lost hasn't been lost ! People have spent it ! And now can't pay it back .

The actual movement is great but I'd say about 75% of the protestors are d-bags that are just angsty looking for a reason to act up, probably don't even understand what they are protesting either.
-
I'm with SauceBoss on this one. Many of the protesters are probably not bad off themselves. The poor that should really be protesting aren't. Why? Because they had go to WORK.
-
Line. You can get one without rich people. Someone jUst takes their place. I don't get you. A CEO of a corporation or a lawyer isn't any more valuable or hard working than a burger flipper at McDonalds

The middle class that are protesting at Wall STreet are NOT the 99%. They complain about "rich dudes" having everything.
The AFRICANS and ASIANS(actually a close number) are the 99%!! Plenty of people in poor African countries live lives without food everyday, are illiterate, etc.
-
Very ignorant people attend those rally's...they want to get stuff free, and nothing is ever free
-
They are a bunch of lazy people looking for a handout. In fact there are plenty of jobs. These people just don't want to do them or they think they are too high for them. Socialism has been proven that it does not work, look at the euro zone. If we move to socialism, we are on our way to what is happening in europe now.

Watch 'Too big to fail' an HBO movie. For those of you who aren't really familiar with what happened or how it happened they did a decent job (for hollywood types). There are way too many coconspirators to list (legislators, wall street, and yes US the people) but it was all centered around greed. Mrs Jones had no business cashing out the equity in her house and becoming a spec investor. And no one forced Mr Jones to take such a risky mortgage that he actually had no vested interest in the transaction and walk away from the closing with cash (and strapped himself so tight that if the water heater broke he would have to decide either to pay the mortgage or fix the water heater). I suppose that is everyone else's fault but Mr and Mrs Jones - I mean we all deserve the American dream but we all don't want to work for it, it should be given to us right? Forget about occupy this and occupy that, if you want to make a difference VOTE
-
(something we take for granted, there are people out there fighting for the everyday rights we have). And yes your vote does count at every level. Eventually people move up the ranks from local politics to the national stage. And people will make the shallow argument about electoral votes and so on- but I'm not even talking about a presidential election. Start in your own backyard- We need change, yes but WE need to actually do something about it.

Seems you are missing the point. Everyone that's not in the top 1% are the 99%.

Really? It's actually the socialist countries that are bailing out the failing ones. Italy- parliamentary democratic republic that is controlled by the center-right. Greece is a parliamentary representative democratic republic who is center-left. Technically it's capitalism that destroyed Greece, credit default swaps. They are a bunch of lazy people looking for a handout. In fact there are plenty of jobs. These people just don't want to do them or they think they are too high for them. Socialism has been proven that it does not work, look at the euro zone. Really if you are thinking of entering a political thread and useing your emotions to argue then you should just step away because those that do that look just as ignorant as those they claim as ignorant.

I am just happy when anyone gets up to protest anything here. Means they took the food away from their mouth and walked out of the house. 😉👍
