Do you have a CHL?

Must this turn into a political debate anyway? There's not much point in arguing politics.

No such license for the Public in Australia. Only for special forces, police, and adequately certified security officers - and only if pre-approved by the police commissioner.

So the millions of criminals around the country should be the only ones that have them? Oh yeah, our stupid government is handing out guns to drug cartels. But what can you expect with a traitor in the White House. -
STFU!! We don't need a Republican vs Democratic arguement!!😡😡😡😡

Real Life Depresses me enough with the Economy and Politics not to mention the history channel!

The second amendment is to give the people the power to overthrow the government if the government doesn't support our best interest as well as form militias to protect ourselves if the military fails. No right is "irrelevant" just because of time. The founding fathers put that in their so we wouldnt have to deal with an oppresive government as they did in england. It was meant to be taken literallyBayern Munich wrote:

Me?? Obviously nobody should have guns. And what do you mean handing guns to cartels? That is absolutely not true. While Obama hasn't been perfect he certainly has been better than any republican. Without Obama the Dow jones would probably still be at like 8,000 and the US economy would still be in a recession. Are you F'ing insane???

Bush Sr. during the Reagan admin. Google "Iran contra". I think it's pretty much common knowledge that the CIA (which bush was director of before becoming VP) was trafficking cocaine to fund the illegal arming of the Iran Contras, a right-wing radical movement.
Does that make the arguement a wash?;)

Btw, ATF was a bush movement that fell under the Obama reign of terror. Just like most other things that are flapping in the wind now.

just like in the other thread....It's too bad we cant all be as angelic as lib's!

Oh and BTW there are no activist left leaning judges....right?

OU, even if there's a lean in the words, the facts are just that, facts.

I had no idea that this thread would go this way. I genuinely wanted to know if anyone out there carries a weapon and what it is. I know that not everyone agrees with weapons and that us fine. No form of data or information will ever make me feel any different about carrying my weapon on me. That being said, I see no end in sight with this now created debate. If you don't like weapons, carrying weapons, or anything about the idea of someone with a CHL possibly saving your life, then I am ok with that.

It seems weird to me that if I go visit my family in TX, anyone around me at Randall's or Whataburger could be packing heat.

Protection. I also travel a lot with my family. It's one of those things you have that you have and hope to never use. If I leave it at home, I turn around to go it. I do not ever want to be in a position where I become the victim, or anyone else for that matter.FREE☠MASON wrote:

Like me. I'm quite liberal. Though more of a fence rider than anything considering. You wouldn't expect me to be packing. 99% of texans are definitely packing it though.ℬeƖƖɑIƗɑƖiɑɳɑ wrote:

I have CHL and several handguns and long guns. Why? I wanna be ready when the zombies come. They are coming, you know.

I'm only 14, but plan on getting a firearm when I'm older. Why? Defense. One night a few years ago my great-uncle (still alive) was at one of my cousins first pro boxing matches ever. My cousin is really good, and won. As my family was leaving the place, the other fighters family stopped mine and started arguing. My family didn't want trouble and tried leaving when the other family pulled out knives and started threatening to use them. My great uncle pulled out his licensed gun and scared them shitless. My point is, if that law wasn't in effect, I could be missing some family members right now. Do you think nobody needs a gun? Really?

Guns are good. People are bad. How can anyone have the stupidity to blame a lifeless object for a persons actions?
I know that from a military standpoint, I love being allowed to have guns. Anyone who invades us will be fighting against more than us joes, and that is extremely demoralizing for soldiers to do.
From a civilian standpoint, it's all about self defense. Once again, you cannot blame a lifeless object for a persons actions, including your own. People do stupid things. Not having a gun isn't going to change that, and most of the people who have guns legally do not do stupid things with their weapons. That being said, making them illegal will leave them in the hands of those who already have them illegally, leading to a significant problem for police and civilians to have to deal with.
Lastly, if you do ever have a gun pulled on you, and you are farther than 30 feet away, just run. Most people shoot like garbage anyway.
