They made the law here because kids were lined up outside the shops getting tatted up and then not telling thier parents.

As someone with multiple tattoos I'm going to give you some advice. Don't get a tattoo because you think it's cool or because you think it'll make you look tough, get it because it will mean something to YOU. Which brings me to my next point, why are you asking people you dont know to choose your design for you? For your first tattoo you should choose something that is relevant to you or your life because you don't want to end up regretting it and having to cover it up with something else you don't want. Laser removal HURTS, way worse than getting a tattoo in the first place so please, think about it carefully. No I'm not a 40year old prude, I'm a 22 year old who is living with the regrets of my first tattoo that I got on my 18th birthday. I love the rest of my tattoos but I honestly wish I would've waited. Now I am in the process of choosing a cover up design that will likely turn out to be a half sleeve to hide my first stupid mistake.

There is actually no minimum age in Kentucky - the law states that parental consent is required for any minor. Colorado is the only state that I'm aware of with no restrictions on tattooing minors (no parental consent required). Some states won't allow it even with parental consent.
